For those interested, as of today, Neil Young's much-talked-about Living With War album is now streaming on neilyoung.com, as well as a few other places. You might experience some connection problems, though, as it seems the whole Internet is listening to this album today.
For those who don't know: Neil recorded this album in the span of just three days earlier this month. Neil's on guitar and vocals, of course. The rest of the band is just drums, bass and trumpet. And a 100-person choir. Neil calls it "metal folk protest." It'll be available for download through iTunes and other sources next week, I think, with an actual CD in stores as quickly as they can be manufactured, hopefully by mid-May. This is a protest record of the highest order. Neil's not pulling any punches. I've only heard the first three songs (again, half the world seems to be trying to listen to this album today), but they're pretty phenomenal. Neil & Co. are rocking the f*** out and taking no prisoners. Listen up, George. Nobody's buying your bull**** anymore. |
