so, I've been offered a position at another firm, making about $5k more a year, pretty much the same benefits. the position is the same, but the litigation is different. instead of strictly asbestos work, it is products liability of all sorts, very interesting stuff; not the same old **** day in and day out.
however, I will be starting at the bottom...I will lose the "senior paralegal" title and all the perks that come along with that. I'll be starting all over. the vacation time isn't as good and the flexibility isn't there. it's a great firm, very well-respected, but very strict about being there at 8:30, only an hour for lunch and no leaving early. so, I'm supposed to give a response this afternoon and I'm trying to weigh my options before I do. what do you think? and here's another thing. when I give my notice, I know my current firm is going to try to keep me. there's no one else that can handle 26 big name clients (4 are our firm's biggest money makers) and the case load I have. so, I'll have to deal with that too. |
