Drunks in the family

[DavidMn]

I had a surreal experience the oher day. I ran into my dad's third wife, to whom he was married from 1978 to 1984. SHe didnt recognize me since it's been 20 years since I've seen her. But anyway, this lady was a terrible drunk, I found this out first hand shortly after they were married when I went into the fridge to get a bottle of Sprite, and to my surprise discovered that it wasnt Sprite, but Vodka in the bottle. She was so mean and nasty when she was drunk, I was glad when my dad had enough of her and said hit the road. The worst thing that ever happened between her and I was when we were on a family vacation in Pensacola in 1983. She was drunk one day, and started yelling obscenities at my great aunt, who I was very close to. Well I wasnt going to put up with that, adn My 12 year old butt went right up to her and I said "If I ever hear you talking to Aunt Eloise like that ever again, I'm going to punch your face. I hate you!!!" SHe ran upstairs and told my dad that I threatned her, and I thought I was gonna get a whuppin. INstead he did nothing, and less than 3 months later they were separated. I'm lucky though, that's the only problem like thats ever been in my family. Even though she was a total bitch, I hope she got help with her problem. It just tears people apart if they let it.
