My Mom's TV Is Possessed?? Why Would This Happen?

[LongBlackScarf]

There are a lot of smart people here on this board so I thought I'd ask an odd electronics (?) type question.

My Mom called me a short time ago and said she was all hunkered down to watch "Lost" last night and it was coming in in SPANISH on her TV. She did not have the remote programmed for Spanish, 'cause, well...she speaks English. Not only that, but all the commercials and other shows were coming in in English. She called her cable co. and they blamed it on her remote. She called ABC and they also said it was her remote. It's not her remote. Any ideas?? I can assure you that Mom's still got all her marbles, so it's not that!
