the full version of shut us down!!

how does someone get their song on a soundtrack anyway? Are they invited to send one in by the director/producer? I also, find it hard imagining that Lindsey would just toss in any old song without the words relating to the movie which makes me wonder, why on earth would he give a song, that everyone thinks could be about a relationship with Stevie (granted it could be,or not be, but if it's not to do with the movie) it seems like an odd choice of words.Guess we'll have to see where it fits in the film.
