This has now become a slightly amusing problem for me, so I thought I'd ask you all if you ever associate Stevie's music with anything. I'm the kind of person where if I hear a song on an eventful day, that particular song and that day will be burned into my mind for a long time. It's kind of weird.
So anyway, a few weeks ago, my mother-in-law was here visiting and asked to hear some Stevie music since she knows I'm a big fan. I played "Rooms on Fire" for her. Mother-in-law doesn't know this, but I find her quite abrasive and irritating. I should've seen it coming, but ever since I played that song for her, I can't listen to it and not think of MIL! In fact, she was asking about Stevie quite a bit, and now I find when I look at my Stevie CDs or something, somehow a memory of MIL worms its way into my brain. Will Stevie and MIL always be linked in my brain? It's kind of frightening!! ![]() |
