Like or Dislike - Stop Draggin...

[skcin]

I like SDMHA, but I don't love it. It may be that it's one of Stevie's more overplayed songs - this is usually the one I hear on the radio. I prefer the album version over recent live versions, but I do love it on the 1981 In Concert video. It's done too low now, and it seems to me like she's just going through the motions at most shows - no emotion, no fire (as compared the recent renditions of Sorcerer or B&tB, for example.)

The music is rockin' & that I like. The lyrics - eh. Not the best, not the worst. There are tons more tunes by Stevie (and Petty, for that matter) that I prefer over this one. I love the video - nothing fancy, just Stevie & Tom singing with the band jamming. Good stuff.

In conclusion, it's a good song. I don't skip it. I do sing along. I do dance to it when I see her do it live. It's just not one of my favorites.
