Light directly affects the circadian sleep rhythm. Melatonin (a chemical produced in the brain) modulates light entrainment. Most melatonin is secreted by the brain at NIGHT. Other disease-fighting & free radical-fighting chemicals are secreted mostly at night, including prolactin, testosterone & growth hormone.

Sleeping in daylight may give you the rest you need, but human beings are organically predisposed to sleep at night, in darkness, thanks to thousands of years of evolutionary fine-tuning. You break down less protein at night, in darkness, than you do in daylight -- regardless of whether you are sleeping.

I tend to believe that, but I also read that people's "clocks" are set in the womb, due to various factors. So, whattrewesupposedtodo?!
