I won't hesitate to kill a mosquito if I find it buzzing around my house, neither will I hesitate to drown out a colony of Argentinian ants if it moves in to either my crab tank or my frog tank (which has happened before), and of course I regularly buy crickets to feed to my frog. I also apply a monthly flea preventative to my cats. For me, its a matter of the fact that mosquitos, ants, and fleas pose a serious risk to the health of my pets, which are far more precious to me than any insect. And of course, the frog has to eat something. I would also not hesitate to kill a tick if i ever saw one on one of my critters.
Other than that, I live and let live. Any other wayward creature - spider, fly, whatever, I capture live and set free outside.

I agree, of course. I love most insects (and fear a couple of them) but it's natural that animals eat each other and that some insects (and arachnids at times) have to be killed to keep other animals safe in your home (well, and also you ). So I'm with ya.
