When staying at her cabin up at Clearlake, said aunt's friend did not want to abide by my great-grandmother's curfew 10:00, saying that it "wasn't the law, 11 is." Hannah Leroy's response: "In this house, to you, ah AM the law!"

No one ever knew just how old Hannah Leroy (my great-grandmother) was. Upon inquiry? "Well, even I can't tell you that. The court house with my birth certificate burned down." Gee, think she was the one holding the match?

She? Is hilarious.

And by the way, I adore southern manners.
