U2's new album...

..is good !
Just got it today..(store's almost sold out already !)..anyway,yes it's good,which I guess you can always expect U2 to be.
'Vertigo' really is the only dud on the album (sorry anyone who likes it,I just think it's an awful song )..the rest of the album is really different..very laid back.It does sound like a distant relative of All That You Can't Leave Behind which to me is a little disappointing.I wish they'd continued to experiment more after 'Pop',but I guess that would've been REALLY left of field.
The only other negative thing about the album is Bono's vocals in some parts. They sound shredded. A good example of this is when you compare Bono's part in the old 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' band aid song from 1984 with the new one..what a difference! I guess it's natural though..age and all.
I get the feeling that there'll be a disappointment for some with this album..there certainly aren't any songs on it that leap out as 'single' material,it's all very similar in it's sound (almost over-produced IMO.) but
the overall product great
