But, really strange was stoping at Pets Mart & feeling totally bummed out because of our family's loss...We decided to look at the cats that were up for adoption by "Pets And People" (An adoption organization that NEVER puts their unwanted pets to sleep...They're up for a $10,000 award through Friskies if they get enough votes online) and that's when a big hairy, big footed, sabre-toothed tom cat named "Ace" decided to adopt US. He was reaching through the cage like he knew we were the right family for him, Which the workers of "P&P" thought was odd...He wouldnt take NO for an answer because he saw a YUPPIE Mother/Son who were also interested in him ("Ace" doesnt seem to like upper class people...Just us Blue Collar/Middle Class types), But as they say, "Ya snooze...Ya lose" and we ended up adopting "Ace" (Or shall we say he adopted us).
He rode home in the pet taxi while our beloved "Percy" was in a container beside the taxi so we could give him a proper burial...Weird thing is that "Ace" adopted some of the same mannerisms that "Percy" had leading us to believe that maybe some of "Percy's" spirit is inside good ol "Capt.Canuck"...Lord knows he is as DESTRUCTIVE as "Percy" was
For a soon-to-be 5 yr. old "Ace" is the biggest baby I have ever seen of an adult cat

I know what you mean about the non-stop crying. I have had to put 6 cats down due to FeLV and each took a piece of my heart. 7 years just isn't long enough, but considering the ones I lost ranged in age from 3 weeks to 3 years, 7 would be a blessing to me. Of course I'll think differently if Gypsy makes it to 7.
And ITA that Percy at least led you to Ace. I had that experience with one of my dogs. Carri's been with me for five years now and I'm truly convinced she inherited some of my dog Bryndle's spirit. Bryndle led me to find Carri and Carri has some mannerisms that I have seen in no other dog but Bryndle.
