Default Kinda OT: Ex Savoy Brown members

I got to see Foghat Friday night at a local county fair... Unbeknownst to me (and I never claim to know everything) Tony Stevens, bass and Roger Earl, drums are ex-Savoy Brown members. The connection here is Bob Brunning. Tony apparently admires John McVie greatly.

They hosted an autograph line after the show. Tony and Roger were very friendly. They're both Brits. Tony has a GREAT sense of humor! When I told him what a wonderful show it was, etc. he said "Thanks darlin. I'm glad you came out to see us." Roger admitted to checking me out during the show, I was in 3rd row. It cracked me up because I thought I saw him looking at me but couldn't really tell cuz of his tinted shades... until I stood up and watched his head follow me. heehee ... then he made that comment to me when I came thru the sign-line, so I knew he was checking me out. What a sweetie! I shoulda flashed him! LOL!!! I plopped a few things to sign in front of Tony first and he made an exclamation about all the stuff I didn't want him to think I was an Ebay broker or something, so I just told him I have a huge collection. Maybe he thought I meant of Foghat stuff... what does it matter, he's a John fan, so I'm sure it's all good anyway. The Foghat show was great. I love seeing a down-home rock and roll show after experiencing the finer trappings of a media event like Fleetwood Mac.

It warms my heart to see bands who so freely spend time with their fans chatting, taking pictures, signing things, doing live meet and greets. Granted, they're not "as big" as FM, but it just really renews my faith and following in the rock and roll "machine" when I go see and spend time with bands like that. The Goo Goo Dolls are the same way.

Anywho, just thought I would share. Tony and Roger are both looking really good these days. They're both a few years shy of 60. They're touring in support of a new album and Tony says they'll keep playing as long as the fans keep paying.
