I just saw on my FB feed an article questioning why Buckingham Nicks has never been released on CD. There were quotes from Lindsey from (I think) 2009 where he basically said he and Stevie want it released, and that they own the rights, but so does a third person, one of Stevie’s managers, and she has the masters so she would have to sign off on it. Then there is a quote from Stevie in 2013 where she said yeah, for some reason we just can’t seem to agree on when to rerelease it.
What I find interesting is that Lindsey referred to the third person by female pronoun. I assumed it was Keith Olson, who produced the album, but he’s a male. The second thing I’m curious about is whether Lindsey and Stevie even own the rights anymore, since they both sold their music catalogue 4 years back. Would that impact whether they could release BN now? |
