I just thought I would pass on some lovely news I got today, but need to give a bit of background to my story first, sorry it’s so long!!

When I went to see Mac in concert in Newcastle (UK) in November I meet up at the gig with some on-line friends of mine, two Scottish lads named Mark & Lee. We had a wonderful night at the first UK gig of the Mac tour.

It was a freezing cold night and we hung around for 40 minutes afterwards to try and catch the band leaving the arena and we had a glimpse of them and a wave from Mick. By the time we got back in our cars the temperature had dropped to minus 2 degrees!!

Mark had got a lift back to Edinburgh with Lee but then needed to meet up with his sister and her friends for a lift back to Glasgow….unfortunately he missed her, and didn’t have enough money left to get a taxi and the train station had already closed for the night. Mark ended up walking the streets of Edinburgh all night in sub zero temperatures until the trains started running next morning.

Next day he thought he had flu, but a couple of days later he was in hospital with pneumonia!! He was in a really bad way, and I was very worried about him. I’m glad to say that he is now out of hospital and back in his own flat but he’s still not really up and about, only managing to be out of bed for about 30 minutes a day.

I was going to another 5 Mac gigs and decided to put together a letter to the Mac to tell them what had happened to Mark after he had been to see them. With the letter I put a Get Well card and hoped I could some how get this to the band and maybe they would sign it for him.

I’m a member of Fireflies UK and between us we came up with the good idea of adding a stamped addressed envelope and then Pip passed it all onto a member of the backing band that she had befriended during the UK tour. That was the end of that and I forgot about it….

Until today when I got an e-mail from Mark to tell me he had received the card yesterday and it was signed by STEVIE!! Wow!! I was so thrilled it all worked out. It has given him an immense boost and he was so chuffed!

Thank you Pip for passing it onto the backing band, it worked!! WOW!!!

I just love Stevie so much, she is such a kind and caring person to take time out to do this for a sick fan.
