I have no idea why people want to know this, but you could tell just looking at all the comments Richard Dashut got regarding drugs that people are fascinated by the topic. I don't mean they just want to know if someone did drugs because I find it interesting to know stuff like Edgar Allan Poe took opium myself. I just don't know why people want to know how much, when did it start, when did it stop, how was it imbibed and on and on. It's strange to me.

People really have romantic, giddy feelings about drugs, even today.
