John Waters in "Looking Through a Glass Onion"

John Waters is bringing his show “Looking Through a Glass Onion” to the State Theatre on Saturday.Musician and actor John Waters is a great believer in the old adage; “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.His John Lennon-inspired show, Looking Through A Glass Onion, began at the Tilbury Hotel in Woolloomooloo in 1992 and went on to spend three months in London’s West End.Now, every seven years or so, the show resurfaces and tours again to new acclaim. His last tour sold out, so now he’s back again, performing at the State Theatre with the Winston O’Boogie Orchestra on Saturday.

Book Review: ‘John Lennon: All I Want is the Truth’ by Elizabeth Partridge

Here’s another late review since*this book was published in 2005, but I just heard about ‘John Lennon: All I want is the Truth’ from a new friend who is*friends with the author…so I bought a copy to check it out! This book was described to me as ‘a book about John Lennon for teenagers’.

Beatles fans can't let it be

Thursday, June 11, 1964, was B-Day, as the old Sun newspaper declared it. This was when the Beatles landed in Sydney to start their Australian concert tour.Only 1000 hardcore fans were waiting at a wet Mascot but the following day, a reported 300,000 fans lined the streets of Adelaide to give a welcome that is often quoted as the largest in the history of Beatlemania.
