This interview is not (yet) available on line. I was able to read it at Nickslive.blogspot with an iPad, but only the cover and first page of the article are visible on my Windows PC. I found the article fascinating as the interviewer (Mike Mettler, editor of the magazine) was very familiar with LB's recording methods. He has interviewed LB numerous times in the past (including October 1992 after OOTC was released, which he refers back to several times). A couple of tidbits from the article:
Mr. Mettler talks about the GOS vinyl and suggests that would be a good thing for "Mindkit" to do (with LB laughing as he is now the "record label" executive in charge of those decisions). Mr. Mettler presses the issue again and LB states that he would definitely look into it (releasing SWS on vinyl). "Illumination" started out as a 45 second end of a TV show music that was rejected (no mention of what TV show it would have been for). LB later re-visited it and expanded it into a full song. |
