Default How about a Fleetwood Mac...comedy?

You know, I always hear about some sort of Fleetwood Mac movie being made in the future, and everyone talks about it like it'll be some sort of super-serious leaden Lifetime Soap Opera Days of Our Music VH1 Weekly Movie piece of ****. No, that won't work. How about a comedy? Let's face it - Fleetwood Mac is funny. Can anyone watch concert films from the 70s and not laugh just a little at Lindsey's robotic posturing, Stevie's woman-possessed/casually-disinterested act, Mick's psychotic elfisms, Christine's floppy head-nobbing, or John's "I'm the bassist!" shtick? They're like a dysfunctional family you can take with you anywhere!

Oh, and make it a conspiracy comedy. Start it in early 1976, and have everyone in the band pretend to break up with each other, so more people will buy their albums. It'll be like a joke only they are in on. Show them sitting around drinking tea all day, except when somebody enters the studio and all hell breaks loose. Maybe Lindsey and Stevie could sit around brainstorming new ways to insult each other in their songs. Maybe they'll eventually get around to hating each other the 150th time they audition The Chain.

Of course, the movie would have to full of esoteric jokes that only fans would understand. Like Lindsey going crazy and repeating "a series of cycles!" over and over again while shaving his beard and afro off. Mick having to explain just what happened to his last six guitarists. Or Christine getting sloshed, writing songs about her dog, and complaining that everything hurts like a mofo. You know, stuff like that. Stuff that ordinary human beings would never understand.

Yeah, I'm probably just rambling. But who wants to watch a glossy estranged soap opera? I don't. They oughta milk this thing for all it's worth. Besides, you'd probably offend fewer delicate sensibilities if you played it as a joke.
