I love in the documentary when they are discussing this song and she says, "when these drums stop, you better start running". I can't wait to hear the entire discussion, because that sounds uber sexy.

I love her music/lyrics as much as anyone, but not for grammar/syntax. But I'm fine with suspending the rules for her.

For the record, the "to make love" in WSS doesn't seem odd to me at all. But if there's a sex scene with her in the WSS video, THAT will shock me.

Those are pretty minor slips of syntax compared to the stuff that permeates pop music generally ... ain't no way Stevie fits with the norm.

Maybe it's an FM thing? Some of Lindsey's English is well dodgy, too. Even Christine gave us 'It would be different and you know it will' (although you can just about make a case for that one making a sort of sense). Bob Welch, of course, has to answer for:

Now it's not a meaningless question
To ask if they've been and gone
I remember a talk about North
Carolina and a strange, strange pond
You see the sides were like glass
In the thick of a forest without a road
And if any man's hand ever made that land
Then I think it would've showed

It all makes the copy editor in me just itch....

Oh my gosh, out of all of them, this is the worst one to me. No excuse! That's right there with the you're/your and they're/their/there mistakes that I see people ignorantly making all the time. Makes me cringe!
