Well I can't be sure how you mean it applies to you but I gotta say I know it applies to me, and that's what meaning it has for me, even moreso than the Rappacini's Daughter meaning.

We all have our 'little demons' (isn't that weird??) but sometimes the good and beautiful things in life stand upright like magnificent, innocent flowers and it compels us to 'fight for the positive choice'.

"Never did I mean to imprison you here in my garden like I am imprisoned."
We've all been guilty at some point of bringing everyone else down with us!

As far as RTTG, for me it's
So you run towards what you know is wrong
But there are too many flowers to cut down

For me, it's more like Thrown Down...

I've shaken your faith in me, no
You've shaken my faith in everything else
A decision no one makes
And now your going home

Faith is a hard thing to hold on to
Something inside you says I don't have to....

This is my life right now totally.
Things will be better....

At certain times in my life it was RTTG, the deadliest poison, can't see the forest through the damn trees, flowers. I have to agree with you Maria and to add "you're not like other people, you do what you want to."

I feel more like a twist to Miranda:
"Miranda is taking the stars down
A little something to call her own
But the lion still rules Miranda
And Miranda is always alone"

Twisting what this actually means, me taking the stars down for something to call my own is like being the dreamer I am of being a rock star or actor or whatever, and so I have this dream world that I can call my own. But the real life still rules me, and yes, I'm pretty much always alone.

***This is not a sympathy plea as I know it sounds...it's just true. I'm not sad about it or anything for those who would care.
