Default UK release date confirmed

Hi All,

It seems the UK release date of June 27th is indeed correct.

I'm in Ireland and my friend checked with HMV and they said it will be released here 29th April. How odd that the UK is getting it later than us!

Well, I think it's all marketing... She plays in Hyde Park the day before, so that might get some more attention towards the release.

But still, it's kinda strange that the restof Europe get it two months earlier....

It makes sense for her to do promotion in the UK whilst she is here. She said during "Crystal Visions" that she wanted to come to the UK, but I don't think she got the chance. It all depends on how much the label is willing to put into promotion. The Mac ALWAYS sell well in the UK, but Stevie has only ever had 1 top 10 album here. TISL only made #45. Lets hope "In Your Dreams" gets the recognition it deserves, and draws some attention to the rest of Stevie's catalogue.

I work in HMV, and our computers still say that it's due for release on the 2nd of May; but maybe it's been pushed back, and we just haven't been updated yet.

If it does come out in June, is there anyway of getting the album in May, when it's released everywhere else? I can't see any option on Amazon to get it imported, and I assume iTunes in the UK won't have it until it's released in June. I don't want to wait until then!!

I really hope the June thing is not true as that would somewhat suck. If true, what it will mean is more people will download it illegally due to impatience; it's not a shrewd marketing technique having a month delay between America and the UK.

I think it's truly daft that they would release it in the Netherlands on April 29- before the rest of the world. For whatever reason, the Netherlands is like the bootleg/pirate capital of the world. I would venture to guess that 90% of the stuff available for illegal downloading on the internet originated in the Netherlands.

LOL it's not just the Netherlands..Ireland,Sweden,Australia,South Africa I think..and many more get all new albums on the Friday before the US&UK..it's down to chart rules..nothing ''daft'' about it.

plus...it's not a contest on who gets it first. If it bothers that much you'll have to fly into a European country of your choice to get your hands on it ''first''

June 27th? Eff that. I'd gladly pay more and order from the U.S. Amazon site on May 3rd. Even that's too far away.

Just order it as normal from amazon.com and use a UK address. It will mean that the shipping is a little more but you won't be b uying it as an "import" as such - and with the exchange rate the way it is you should be about £15 including shipping.

I often order stuff from amazon.com, pre-order and already released items, that you can't get here - saves paying prices for a CD on import from a UK site or shop. It's all priced as normal, just takes a little longer to get here. That said, the last things I ordered only took a week to get here.

We should all have it way before 27th June! My guess is 20th May if they dispatch my preordered copy on the day of release.
