Hi there everyone, I'm new, as you can tell. (Hi, Sally!) I've been lurking for a bit, though.
I was at the Buffalo show and I was completely blown away. I saw the Mac of '94 open for Crosby, Stills, & Nash---and it was nothing like this. I'm considering this to be my first real Fleetwood Mac concert, even with the absence of Christine. I am still flying high from the concert. What I saw of the crowd being rude (now granted, I was off in section 103, row7, but I still had great seats) was that during the new material, that's when it was time to get more beer---or get more food---or go to the bathroom---or go smoke and come back all smelly. I mean really, people---the album's been out for a month! It seriously drove me nuts. My friends and I were singing along (not loudly, just enough to sing along), and clapping, and the people in front of us (now, mind you we were sitting---something I'm not used to since I'm usually in the front rows of Barenaked Ladies concerts) turned around and asked us to quiet down because they were "trying to listen to the music." Call me crazy---but aren't there huge speakers all around the arena? Isn't everybody making noise? For the price of the tickets---I recommend staying home next time and listening to your CDs, buddy. I was highly touched by "Landslide," mainly because this being my first Mac concert with Stevie, and being brought up on the band just...I don't know...I just couldn't believe I was seeing her live and in person singing such a great song. Same with "Silver Springs" and "Beautiful Child." Next time---I'm on the floor! ![]() |

Now see, everyone basically forced Stevie to wear those platform boots for this tour because everyone just had to complain about the reeboks. As a result, she was probably sore and miserable during the first few shows, and that is probably why people say she wasn't as animated. I'm glad she kicked them off for the Buffalo show so that she could dance around for you guys. Maybe it's not her hip at all...maybe it was the boots that made her sluggish. Perhaps this was the endurance issue and why Destiny Rules and Running through the Garden were cut from the set (although I think these were cut more because Stevie's on stage a lot more and SINGING a lot more on LB's songs than on The Dance. She's basically on every song except Come, and singing a good deal of the other songs, as opposed to singing bits and pieces on others' songs, if singing at all). Hopefully now everyone will just leave her alone about the boots and let her wear what's she's comfortable in so she can kick more ass.

Well, I had 8th row center for the Cleveland show. Some of the people there were quite rude. There were a pack of about 8 woman and they occupied every empty seat until the actual owners showed up. They looked as if they were playing musical chairs.
There was a older couple next to me. They got up for beer a few times. I was very careful not to keep my camara next to her because the beer looked as if it might go flying any moment. She was smoking and drinking and "dancing" next to me. There was yet another couple in front of me that like to visit the concession stand more then see the show. Guess who decided to "sit" in their seats until they came back? Yep 2 of the pack ladies. I had 2 classy young men sitting in back of me. Yeah right. They were yelling throughout the show. At one point when Stevie had the low-cut dress on they made some kind of comment. When Stevie sang Beautiful Child a lot of people sat down. I looked at my chair and I don't know what was on it thanks to the 2 boys in back of me. I wiped it off and said out loud " some people are such pigs". At one point people were tossing around a beach ball and seemed more into that then the show. I was tempted to let the air out but I was good girl. Well thats enough of my complaints for now. |

I must of had good luck because nobody around me was rude the slightest. One time the people to my left went out for a drink..but that was it. The lady next to me was smoking a cig which wasn't too big of a deal, i dont come to a concert and not expect a cig to be lit up. Nobody near me even left durring the new songs and thats what suprised me , everyone near me was so into it...those back rows of the front floor sections were cool. I'm sorry to hear that other people at the buffalo show had to deal with rude people. Buffalo is usually known for really friendly people too.

I figure that I'd try posting this in the thread first rather than starting a brand new one...(I'll wait a few days)
Did anybody tape the B'lo show? I'd kill (well, at least B&P--2 for 1) for a copy! ![]()
