Default I'm there..

I saw Stevie at the Borgate a few summers ago and I loved the hotel and venue.. much better than the Trump... making my arrangements now to stay at the Water Club..

speaking of the Trump, although I wasn't a fan of the venue, I was impressed at how Stevie and the band sounded... she can still rock it!

Louie makes a great point. I mean, if you’ve never been to NOTS and were thinking about going or if you haven’t been in a long time and want to go, there will be many chances to see Stevie. Of course I’m biased since I happen to be the opening VJ at this year’s NOTS

Plus, my set list won’t be as predictable, just saying.

Stevie's new album comes out May 3rd--Borgota is May 6th. New music.

Link?

I am HOPEFUL that that's not her only NYC-area show. But that's crazy bad planning to do it the same night as NOTS. That said... I hate to say it but... I'll be going to NOTS. If only because it takes me 20 minutes to get home from NOTS. It takes me 8 hours to get home from AC.

or should I stay at a hotel???

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

I'd be able to reconcile Stevie's lack of passion and increasing indifference these days if she were to at least thoroughly mix up her setlist. Not to mention that Stevie's voice just gets pitchier every single year. I adore Stevie in my way, you adore her in yours. I prefer to remember her for what she was, not what she's deteriorated into.

Besides my displeasure with her performances the past 10 odd years, the biggest reason to go to NOTS if that's your thing is because Stevie always does a TON of Northeast dates. If you want to go to NOTS and see a Stevie show too, you can do just that. You can truly have your cake and eat it too if you live in that region.
How dare you?! My cattiness is never veiled!

The thing is, right now we really don't know what's going on with these so-called "tour" dates. She's doing a date in the east and doing a date in the west one week later. That sounds like "not a tour" to me. As such, I really can't help but wonder whether these are isolated one-off dates before Europe. The past couple of times Stevie played the Borgata, they were more-or-less one-off dates, so I wouldn't put anything past her.

As far as "pitchiness" is concerned, I would say she has never been more ON pitch than she has over the past ten years. She was way, way off throughout the Klono-years and even the Dance and Enchanted tours. I think she makes much more of an effort to stay on pitch these days than anything else, which may explain what may appear to be relatively staid performances.

Dramatize much? Get thee to the Port Authority and get to AC in two hours. Last time I did that it was $10 round trip (once you cash in your gambling credit).

You can also gamble with your life and hop on one of those Chinatown buses.

Hmmm seeing Stevie versus hundreds of drag queens pretending to be her.....

I'm not saying some of the impersonators aren't fab (Jazz) but come on..

It's an Academy Bus which you can reserve in advance via http://www.megabus.com . Juse make sure you bring your reservation paperwork with you because they're like Keystone Kops down there.

It takes longer than two hours to get there also with the train stopping every 5 minutes to let cattle pass the track. But I wasn't being dramatic. I was referring to how long it takes to get home. I'm pretty sure I got into the city at 5 am last AC concert. I waited in the train station for hours for the next train. Then the train was too over Air-Conditioned to sleep. It gave me a cold.

ETA: Here's my thought. NOTS should relocate to AC as the ultimate post-concert after party

That was the ACES train, or worse yet, NJ Transit? Either way, big mistake. It looks like both routes swing through Philadelphia, whereas the Academy Bus goes directly down the Garden State Parkway (making only one stop at the rest stop where the Turnpike and the Parkway merge). Last time I took the bus, I left AC a little after midnight and got back to the Port Authority by 2:15AM. And there were maybe five other people on the bus- definitely plenty of elbow room.

If you reserve early enough via megabus.com, the round trip is like $1. It's crazy.

I agree if that person is able to catch another Stevie show, or has seen Stevie recently. I think every Stevie fan MUST do NOTS at least once in their life.
