Meet Stevie on Oprah

So last fall I sent in a letter saying that Stevie Nicks should be on the show

Dear Oprah

In all the years of having interviewed many singers and songwriters there is one person you have never interviewed and that is Stevie Nicks. I am one of the biggest fans of Stevie Nicks and have always wanted to meet her in person. I think her story is very interesting and she has such an amazing voice. I became a fan when my father was talking about a band that had a female singer and how he liked them. I didn't know who he was talking about until I started going through their LP collection and found the Rumours album. That was the start of a lifelong obsession with everything related to Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks. I have travelled to NYC and Philadelphia to attend shows when she hasn't come to Canada which is where I live. Why I enjoy her music so much is that she has written most of her songs herself and she has this very unique voice that really pulls you in. Her stage presence always feels so magical and mysterious at the same time. My favorite songs of hers are Landslide and Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You. I would love to have the chance to hear her sing live on Oprah. That would be the dream of a lifetime. In my opinion she is the queen of Rock and Roll. She has a new CD coming out in the spring so it would be perfect timing to have her on your show.

I was at work this evening and I got this email from a producer at Harpo that stated that they want more information on my story including a recent photo and a contact number. The email looks very legit so I think it is on the up and up.

I can't believe this is happening. This is beyond amazing. I don't know what this all about in terms of me being on the show or just being in the audience. I will keep you posted as to what happens

YES! GOOD WORK! This album could be huge With that extra help also. I hope you get to have a really good experience And that she gets to be on the show

I got a similar message this afternoon! I wrote a letter several weeks ago after reading a thread on this forum about it. Of course I wrote back ecstatically. Nobody has to twist my arm to get me to talk about one of my favorite subjects ever.

After years of perusing here, this is my first post. So I just wanted to chime in and say good luck to everyone involved in getting Stevie on the show. I think it's finally going to happen.

I'm not American, and know very little of Oprah, so forgive me if I sound ignorant, but, Stevie going on her show is like, a huge deal right? It's so cool that they emailed you about Stevie, though!

I hope something really great comes of this. Specifically, if Stevie is in fact invited & goes on the show, that Stevie, and particularly Oprah & her producers, pull out all the stops that someone of Stevie's legacy deserves.

Oprah is the equivalent of the top of the mountain here in the US. The fact Stevie has been in show business for 40 years and hasn't been on Oprah says it all. Oprah is probably the single most influential woman in the US... her influence is widely credited/blamed for getting Barack Obama in the White House. Fame alone won't get you on her show... you have to be a dynamic game changer. Somebody who has piqued her interest. Someone who has sent ripples of change throughout the world. If Stevie were to get a spot on her show, it'd definitely be a real coup for Stevie and her fans
