Default Stevie's summer touring plans

I'm getting increasingly worried that this Rod tour thing is going to last throughout the summer and will be the primary means of promotion for this new album. The UK date is what's scared me the most, I think. Although I'm SO happy that the UK fans get the chance to see her this summer, doesn't it seem strange that she'd stop halfway through a solo North American tour to go perform a gig with someone she was touring with just months prior?

I could just be paranoid. I've decided to skip the Heart & Soul tour because a) I don't want to spend $200-400 dollars on tickets and b) I have zero interest in Rod. I really, really want a solo tour.

Thoughts?

No offence, but you just need to get over it. Stevie hasn't played solo in the uk in my lufetime, and yet shes toured the US constantly with no album to support for the lasr 10 years. I don't care for Rod, but I'm still going cos it could be the only chance i get to ever see her solo. She will still tour the US again and again.

Ok lets all breathe! Inhale...exhale...ok all better now.

SUPER EXCITED for the UK fans!! Congrats guys you deserve it.

The Rod/Stevie Tour ends April 23 or so. Stevie said and we all know she says things...that she was going home for 2 weeks and rehearsing.

Then IYD comes out.

Rod is touring the UK from May until the end of June.

Maybe this is a promo thing for Hard Rock.

Tickets for Rod's gigs in the UK have already gone onsale...I highly doubt she will tour over there with him strictly with no prior warning. They could make even more money if they had announced it prior.

My opinion is she does the promo and press for IYD for a week or 2. The tour starts at the end of May go through June. Fly over to the UK to do this show for Hard Rock, maybe and hopefully a few more shows for the fans that havent seen her and then come back to the states and does July and or August.

We have been seeing her since 2003 here in the states..we will see her this year.

Agreed. She's not going to put a new album out after 10 years and NOT do a tour for it. That wouldn't make sense. Even Sharon and Lori agreed when I spoke with them about it. (Not that they really know anything either)

I do think the Rod/Stevie tour success level, and the success of IYD will determine what size venues she will play when she tours solo. It'll be interesting.

I know I sound like a broken record but.... 22 years people! That's how long since she was solo here! I have zero interest in Rod but I have my ticket for Hyde Park. And yes...I'm hoping more dates will be announced. And in hoping this I'm sorry to say I'm not a bit worried about how it will impact her US tour

I'm pretty sure she'll be touring in the US again pretty soon no matter if she does or doesn't tour the UK

And I'm not bitching at you Dani...I hear your concerns....but I've seen people flapping about how this UK date will affect the US tour on FB, twitter and here. In one breath saying they're happy for the UK but then going on to worry about their US dates. How long ago did she tour solo in the US? 22 years ago? lol

My suspicion is that Stevie is not going to start her U.S. solo tour until sometime later in the year- August, perhaps. It makes no sense for her to hit all of these major U.S. cities in the Spring and then turn around and hit them all again two months later. I *think* the H&S tour will end in April and then she will be on an all-out media blitz during the month of May. Perhaps there will be a handful of stateside warm-up gigs in June. But I think she is going to spend much of June and July in Europe. Just a hunch. Also, if a summer U.S. tour was really in the works, we would have already started hearing about dates by now; the summer concert season is only a few months away.

I dont think her US solo summer tour will kickoff until late june/early july and run through september! This is the same time frame as she did with TISL and didnt announce the dates until mid-late april.

Default Time and money

We would love to see Rod and Stevie in Atlanta. Our dishwasher and deepfreezer have issues and may take priority. Lauratn is sick today and had to miss work and that takes out a vacation day that we could use for Atlanta. We are hoping Stevie stops here in Knoxville in the late summer or fall.

Agreed. I was going to skip this part of Heart & Soul tour because she's said the only new song she will perform is Secret Love. The UK date has me wondering how this whole thing is going to play out. To schlep her band all the way to London for one show is mighty expensive.

And you need to read what I wrote correctly and realize that I have no problem with her going to the UK for a few weeks

Okay, that's what I'm thinking too. Don't get me wrong, people-- I LOVE that she's going to Europe, and you fans all deserve it 110%. It's just that there's been speculation about a US North American tour AFTER the Rod tour, and it wouldn't make a lot of sense to tour with him and then go solo for a less than a month before starting rehearsals with him again. I was worried that they'd extend the tour with Rod.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the UK date itself. I want more of them!

I'm praying this is what's going to happen. Other than I may be in Europe starting in September and therefore will miss a big opportunity to see some Stevie shows here. Shoot me.

I straight up asked Stevie to her face if she was going to tour this summer for IYD and she said YES and that they are starting rehearsals right after the tour with Rod. Not that her word is law and yes, things could change but I highly doubt it. I wouldn't worry quite yet Danielle.

I see the concern here it just seems that the Rod/Stevie gig could be extended?

Being from Calif. we get more then our share of concerts from Stevie. I sincerely feel for the people in UK & Europe, and do hope they get more solo show's from her.

I didn't feel or see any greediness coming from Dani's post, just concern they may extend the gig.....
