I think it's a matter of practicality for Stevie to tour in Europe solo again. Logistically, it's so expensive (the cost of petrol alone) for her to pack it up and trek over to Europe, unless she has a huge incentive that masses of people will show up (as in Australia). Its one thing if it's Fleetwood Mac, but Stevie's solo career was dead on arrival in Europe. Her 1st 3 solo releases were virtually ignored. She finally had a modest success after TITN with OSOTM. But since then, other than a well spring of adoration from the likes of Bats For Lashes or Florence & The Machine etc., Stevie - the solo artist, is flying under the radar in Europe.
Please correct me (European Ledgie's) if my observations are wrong. But unless IYD is a success (having Dave Stewart attached may generate some attention) in Europe, your best chances of seeing Stevie will be if Rod and her extend the Heart & Soul gig and she tours with Rod over there sometime this year.

I totally agree. Rod is doing some stadium dates in the UK in June - it would be great if Stevie put in an appearance. I wouldn't like to think about ticket prices though - Rod's alone start at £40 but anything half decent is £80-£100.

I think you are very very right about that. The Aussies hardly get big artists coming to their country and Stevie is far from well known or popular in Europe...

Back in 1989 she only filled the Rotterdam Ahoy for the half of it that might bij 3500 seats). And then she had a hit (ROF) and a well sellimg album (OSOTM). She will be very lucky to fill the HMH in Amsterdam or the Tilburg 013 if you'e ask me...

No, of course I do hope for it (almost pray) I do not see it happen. Stevie coming to Europe or Holland in particular.

I'm really sorry but I have a few issues with your opinion, as you'll see from the highlighted points.

Firstly - Stevie can afford it. She has money, no matter how much she talks about the changing economic climate. Her success as a writer and continued sales of and exposure to songs like Landslide mea that she is incredibly wealthy and would easily afford a small European trip. While I obviously don't expect her to fund it herself, her record company would pay for a lot of it.

She does have an incentive. Her fans. I cannot believe that she does not have as any fans across the entirety of Europe than she does in Australia/New Zealand. I don't just mean the UK. I'd go anywhere in Europe to see her. It's this point that really grates on me. She tells us how she loves her fans so much and yet she deliberately excludes a huge portion of them by not giving them any live dates. It is very much a conscious choice on her part.

As for flying under the radar, what did she do to boost her own career in Europe for her first solo albums? Next to nothing. Warners would have definitely pushed her in Europe, many huge A,erican artists were doing incredibly well at that time but they toured to make sure they were known. Her flat refusal to tour Europe as a solo artist has a lot to do with such underexposure.

Please do not take the above personally. I can totally see were you're comin from but I just really don't agree.

I think it would be amazing to see her at the Paradiso in Amsterdam, but I think her ego is simply too big for a venue like that
