I turn 18 in August and I can't frikken wait
Not sure why because if I want I can get alcohol now and I'm legally old enough to have sex already but it's an exciting prospect. |

I was terrified of turning 30. I was mortified of turning 40. I am now 49 and can't wait to turn 50. I can't wait to tell people I am 50 because I look so much younger. I am on a weight loss schedule that I've been doing since July 4th of last year and by the time I actually am 50, I expect to look a whole lot better than I do right now.

Age is but a number dears. Ever since getting over my depression I look forward to every year, everyday, every second.

Bobby, the edge of 17 is actually 16 or 16 and a half.

I dunno just in general, but then again, I've only tasted nasty stuff, like beer and *shudders* Passover wine. All I know is that on my bday, I plan on getting drunk off a girly drink

![]() However, nasty is a sip of Manchewitz wine (the kind you drink for a Passover sedar). I think it's fortified with extra stuff or something and it's like drinking syrup |

no need to feel any anxiety, the trick is to get there in one piece, &, keep going, (don't look back), a couple of years ago, (2009), back in the UK, I spoke with some older relative, (all in in their 70"s, &, 80's), they all stated the same thing, that despite the physical aging process, (the usual aches, &, pains), they all still felt relativly young, ie, their brains were still young, btw, this guy is LVI, but feels more like XVI, (wierd eh), Happy Birthday when it comes, enjoy, G. |

I've got you by 12 days! I don't think I feel anxiety about turning 40, but what does freak me out is how fast time has gone. Also the fact that even though I feel like I'm the same person I was when I was younger, my body is starting to remind me I'm not. Things hurt that never used to! |

I still don't feel 21, and I turn 23 this year. Oh well. Maybe in a few years it may catch up to me. But I hope it doesn't, because I enjoy my childlike and silly mannerisms. Why would I want stop hopping around the studio in handmade bunny ears or finding new hiding places around Uni? I love my adventurous streak. Last week I fell asleep in one of the classroom drawers. How many 22 year olds can say that?

I've always believed "on the Edge of Seventeen" was actually 17 going on 18. If it was 16 going on 17 I think it would be "At the Edge of Seventeen" not "on" it. Just like if you are on the edge of a cliff about to fall off. I suppose anything with a beginning and end, like an age, could have two edges though, so someone who is turning 17, and someone turning 18 could both say they are "on the edge of 17".

i will be 34 in june and suprisingly my 30's have been pretty good so far. i thought i would have freaked out when i turned 30 but it wasnt a big deal at all. i think its because i havent really started to age yet so i am ok with it now. i am sure in 20 years i will be singing a different tune though, ha!!
the only time i feel older is when people ask me how long i have been married and i tell them a little over 10 years, ha ha!! its funny i feel younger now than when i was 23. |

18 in October
Around that time should be exciting for a few reasons, though I have exams and stuff between now and then so I'm not counting down the days. I can do most stuff legally already though, except drinking I guess.Last edited by RickRobert; 02-27-2011 at 07:19 PM.. |
