Thanks msLinds! Wow, that is pretty awesome. I was actually in that exact spot in December. I want new GOASTT music. I want some Jules news. Why must I wait for these things when I want them right now?

Default 1 new short interview for Nylon.com 2/2011

Thats cool Nico you were in that same area of Soho In New York city in December. From what information I have read.Julian Lennon's new album has been completely done for a while. We are all waiting for when he decides to release it.I had read he was going to release it supposedly this summer 2011.But now after his Timeless photography exhibit and traveling around alot.I think he is getting a little rest and taking a break.Untill he decides what he is going to do musically or releasing that new album, or as even as a photographer.I understand not wanting to wait for things. But look how we as fans here for years and decades are allways waiting for Fleetwood Mac or Stevie or Lindsey .lol I have one update tonight.A short interview from a few days ago.

THE INSIDERS: THE GOASTT

Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl, backstage at NYFW

Models and musicians. Tired formula? Not with The GOASTT, the band composed of Charlotte Kemp Muhl and her boyfriend, Sean Lennon. Together the couple fuse ethereal vocals, folksy melodies, and various instruments for a free-spirited sound that's all their own. The twosome performed today at the Rebecca Minkoff runway show, and we caught up with them backstage afterward.

Thank you msLinds! How cute is this?

If you could go on tour with anyone, who would it be?

Sean: I would love to play with Antony and the Johnsons. To open every night for them would be amazing.

Charlotte: I would like to play bass.

Sean: What is this, a mutiny? What if i began encroaching on your territory? Maybe I should be the new face of Maybelline!

Charlotte: [laughing] Oh, snap!

They're too adorable. I love it.

Granted this is the catch-all Lennon/Beatles thread, but I think this deserves more notice than to be buried as post #259 in the "Beatle bin".

Agreed!

George will always be incredible to me. He was my orginal Beatle love, as I fell in love with him as a 4 year old based on this album cover:

His guitar playing was epic: beautiful, melodic, passionate. He was regarded as the "quiet Beatle" because he just didn't feel like delivering all the one-liners or trying to make the girls swoon with remarks drenched in heavy romanticism. But George was extremely witty, a pioneer of Eastern music and philosophies, and incredibly more deep than the silly coined nickname entailed.

All Things Must Pass is one of the greatest albums ever, and certainly at the very top of the top Beatle solo albums. George didn't mess around, and in my opinion Here Comes the Sun and Something are 2 of the 5 most beautiful moments on Abbey Road for me- and that is saying A LOT.

George will always be loved and adored for all that he brought to music and to the world in general. I want to leave off with my favorite George song and my favorite version of it:

He was a beautiful man, and I miss him. The day I found out George was gone I cried instantly. It was a great loss of a man who really never wanted all the adulation and strove for a more peaceful, private existence. Love you George!

Mslinds: if you go back to post # 244 you will see that I extended more of what Yoko wrote in her Imagine Peace letter. I left some of that out accidentally.

I also wanted to leave a video with John and George for all to enjoy. I believe Tom Petty once said in the George Harrison tribute edition of "Rolling Stone" that, through knowing and spending so much time around George for so many years, he came to see that much of George's personality was formed by John. (That isn't to say, of course, that Paul and Ringo didn't rub off on him, or that each of them didn't also take loads from each other- they were really like brothers and, honestly, whenever I see a Beatle, whether the ones passed or still alive I am instantly reminded of the 3 who are not there and how much that one Beatle seems to act like another Beatle or even has mannerisms like the other...so strange but true)

Anyway, John and George had a very spiritual bond. There is a point in the Beatles ANTHOLOGY where 1980 John relays the story of the artist Gauguin and his struggles to create the 'ultimate masterpiece.' This is what John said:

He [Gauguin] had gone to Tahiti to escape his own strait jacket working at a bank. A wife and children, one whom he had been dedicating a personal journal he kept whilst living in the South Pacific, explaining why he had left his family. When he returned to Tahiti, he received a letter from home telling him his daughter had died! What a price to pay to 'go down in history'. He finally finished his large 'masterwork,' and died, the point being that, OK, he was a good painter, but the world could manage without his 'genius.' I believe the 'masterwork' was destroyed by fire after his death. The other point being, had he had access to so-called mysticism...fasting...meditation...and other disciplines (as in disciple) he could have reached the 'same space.' Hard work, I grant you, but easier than killing yourself and those around you.

So then George Harrison's immediate quote following John's story was this:

That was the great thing about John and what I got from him, from all those years. He saw that we are not just in the material world; he saw beyond death, that this life is just a little play that is going on. And he understood that. You wouldn't claim something like Gauguin neglected his family for art, or dying for your painting is stupid- why bother?- unless you have a feeling that there is something bigger in life. A painting of a sunset cannot compare to the real sunset. Art (like music) is an insignificant attempt at reproducing what God does every moment.

Having gone through that LSD period with John, right from the first day we ever took it, I understood him and I believe our thoughts were much more in line with one another.

i always grew up with paul mccartney more thanks to my dad(the real beatles fan), but then after really listening to abbey road(best beatles record btw), i started to explore his songs and i am very impressed by how good he really was.
i recently found a demo session of his future release "all things must pass" album.

its so raw its umbelievable, such brilliant and honest music that we dont get anymore.

I am sorry ChiliD and everyone that this got only posted here today.I only found out about it myself earlyer today. I have also have tryed twice now as others have to register to George Harrison official web sites message board. They don't even allow new people to register and have not in months.Maybe they will again later. It hard finding out information about what going with things George Harrison related.I don't go to his official web site as often as I should.I am going to try from now on to make sure I do more often.I mean no disrespect toward him.I think he is very important as a former members of the Beatles. Also for all his great solo music he did on his owns. I love George's solo music to.I also agree with you Nico that George and John seemed to have a spiritual bond to.I love George's work after he left the band.I also read that the streaming 24 hour concert is coming out for sale on Blueray DVD this month to.Its going to be still showing for several hours.online.Everyone have a safe, positive and great weekend and take care.

Default 2 Beatles Articles from the " Voice of Russia " web site

I have 2 updates. I found this link on Examiner.com today.I have a second article from January from the " Voice of Russia ' site

The Voice of Russia

Beatles Monument in Siberia,Russia

http://english.ruvr.ru/2011/02/26/46271702.html

The Voice of Russia
January 16, 2011

Russia’s Ural city of Yekaterinburg is playing host to the exhibition “Lennon with us”, which opened on the eve of UNESCO-established Beatles Day in honor of the legendary Liverpool quartet The Beatles. It is celebrated worldwide on January 16th. We have more from our correspondent Tatyana Zavyalova.

The Beatles is deservedly acknowledged to be one of the 20th century brightest phenomena. Even despite its break-up, the band has been overtaking other musicians in popularity for many years, as testified to by the constantly growing number of its fan clubs worldwide. It is an understatement to say that Russia is no exception here - our country can be called a sort of a leader in this respect. But Yekaterinburg apparently stands out among other Beatlemania-obsessed Russian cities as a paradise for Beatles fans. The country’s first monument to the band erected here on May 23rd 2009 features the four musicians as “white silhouettes fixed to a brick wall”. A nearby yard regularly hosts performances of famous Russian and foreign bands. The ongoing “Lennon with us” exhibition displays works by Ural artists, such as Felix Smirnov presenting a series of his brilliant graphic designs; avant-garde painter Sergei Pafenyuk, whose pictures are included in the Beatles Art collection and were appraised by Sir Paul McCartney himself; and Olga Shaerman with her gorgeous portraits of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, which she made after listening to the White Album tracks.
