As Christmas shopping kicks in, I try to think of some things I really want that I know no-one could find for me, and make some self-purchases in the mix. I can't just give and give, it's unhealthy! This year I want a Fleetwood Mac promo video collection on DVD, and I found something on 'ioffer.com'- tons of Fleetwood Mac stuff there. This is a 90 minute dvd, unfortunately it seems that the logos of vh1 or mtv appear throughout, but still think I'd like it. I've copied the track listing and wonder if there's much missing. Anyone?
Oh, before lectures and judgement, yes, I know it's a boot. Yes, I'd prefer the band got their deserved profit, but what's a collector to do, wait another 30 years and hope for the best? Track listing: Gypsy Hold Me Oh Diane Big Love Seven Wonders Little Lies Family Man Everywhere As Long As You Follow Save Me Sky’s The Limit Landslide (Live) Paper Doll Don’t Stop (Presidential Performance) Grammy Awards ‘98 Say You Love Me R&R Hall Of Fame ‘98 Say You Will Peacekeeper Oh, right off I notice that 'Sara' isn't included, MTV used to play it a lot (SN in the red dress, I believe from the 'Tusk' documentary). Many of these videos may be online, and I do have a dvd burner I have never used on this Mac, but would really rather buy it already made. I think the total cost was $22, seems reasonable enough. And that may be the problem, there's no quality control. It's too bad the band isn't interested in making these clips available to fans, but I understand that it's expensive and may not be worth the effort to the label or to the band. The sellers on ioffer claim that all these videos now fall under 'public domain' as copyrights have lapsed, and are fair game to sell. I wonder if that's so. That is horrible. I can't believe they added the Tango in The Night live video cuts into it.
There is also this version of In The Back Of My Mind video on Billy Burnette's site: http://www.billyburnette.net/index4.html |

under public domain. I forget what the time period is in the U.S., but the U.K. has a time frame of 50 years before audio releases fall into the public domain. I think that's ridiculous. It should be pushed to at least 75 years. But I say go for it, buy the DVD. It's not like the Mac is going to release us any video in our lifetimes. Or so it seems. |

I don't see any difference in buying a bootleg DVD than spending 3 hours a night on Youtube watching "bootleg" videos! Not that I do that mind you...
