Default Could Lindsey sing some Christine songs if there is another tour?

A friend of mine is a respected music guru by those who know him. He has a really broad knowledge of rock music over the past few decades. Has attended endless concerts of many artists. I was delighted that he came to FM's Melbourne concert with me last year, that ended with us being right in front of Mama for Silver Springs at the end!

Anyway, today we were discussing the potential for another Mac tour and I felt that without being able to perform more of Christine's songs it would be difficult for them to do another tour so soon after Unleashed. I also feel that Stevie is limited in which Christine songs she can sing, due to her depleted range (which doesn't matter so much with her songs because we get the whole Stevie performance - you know what I mean).

My friend put to me that Lindsey is still such an awesome performer, still has such a great voice - could he perform some of Christine"s great songs?

What do people think? What songs would suit?

Word.

I don't want to even think about him singing her songs. She can sing them perfectly herself, she just chooses not to.

I legit cried when I saw the videos of Stevie singing Christine's songs and if I were to be put through it again by Liddy or Stevie, I'd just lose all hope in life.

I don't mind the different interpretations by other Mac members...I mean, there's a long history of the "new" people covering the "old" Mac songs. I will say that Stevie's lyric changes on "Don't Stop" are obnoxious.

Chris songs that I always felt could be covered...
Oh Daddy - Stevie
Think About Me - Lindsey
Brown Eyes - Stevie
Hold Me - Lindsey
Little Lies - Both
Isn't it Midnight - Either of them

Yes, without Chris' smooth voice, they would be totally different. It would add some variety to what is really a stale setlist.

The ONLY one I think could possibly work is Think About Me. But considering how many of Lindsey's own songs are never played, I'd rather hear one of his compositions. (Tango in the Night!!!)

I'd rather Stevie and Lindsey played some more of their own material than butchered Christine's, to be honest. >_>

Sorry, but Chris is a one-of-a-kind rocker chick. No one should go around covering her songs.

Anyways, Stevie and Lindsey should maybe bring up old-time tunes (Sisters of the Moon and Blue Letter) and maybe even some we never heard live (can't quite think of Stevie, but Tango in the Night! Imagine what Bucky could do with that live)

Or even better: dig up a few Buckingham Nicks tunes, especially Frozen Love

What? Make it sound even MORE like "I'm So Afraid" than it already does?

And, that would be an improvement?

I have no idea now. Maybe he shouldn't play it and do something else

Best idea yet.

Something like "Can't Go Back" or "Goodbye Angel" from the Mirage album sessions?

In regards to Lindsey singing Christine songs...

He already sings half of "Don't Stop", "Think About Me" & "Hold Me"...so why not just sing the whole song?

See? This is the problem with having concurrent solo careers while still trying to maintain a band profile, too. Myopic fans start identifying BAND songs with the individual songwriter. I don't care if Lindsey or Stevie sing one or more Christine songs in concert...those are Fleetwood Mac songs sung by Fleetwood Mac members. Sure, I dispise how Lindsey does "Oh Well", but I'd much prefer that the song be performed than not. So, if Lindsey ends up singing the ENTIRE "Don't Stop" (or any of the ones I mentioned earlier) that's great! I'd also like it if they also included a song by Danny Kirwan, Bob Welch, or any of the other ex-FMac songwriters, too. It's Fleetwood Mac material being done by Fleetwood Mac. If they don't want to do those songs, then go on a solo tour when you can limit your song selections to your own material.

I have only watched one video of Stevie singing Christine's part on 'Just Stop,' and it was meh. I honestly tried to like it, but just could not.
