I was at the Turning Stone show...The only problem I had was with the seating . There was NO room to move. Now I know what a sardine feels like. Other than that it was great. I was on left side of floor 14 rows back still had a good view...Stevie kicked ass She doesn't move as well as she used to But "Even children get older...She's getting older too" Who was the older guy almost holding Stevie up during edge walk? Was she only taking flowers? Saw other things being held up but not taken...As others have said the crowd was pretty lame. How can you sit down during Petty's Wreck me? That song was just rockin'...Stevie lost me during the band intro's when she started rambling... but hey I could listen to her talk all night...She looked like she was having a good time...When she was over by Al and Darrel I almost thought she might break out into a full on "Chicken Dance" had the elbows goin'...Kinda disapointed Stevie didn't wear any hats...No Rhiannon top hat...No Big feather Rock and Roll hat...To answer the question as to who would build a casino there...The Indians...I do believe it's on a reservation...The indians can do what they want...These shows are just so random...I couldn't believe it when the Verona date was added...So the wait begins...New record in March (Fingers Crossed) Followed by a full on tour...Let's hope...MAC in 2012 ? Sounds like this may be the start of a very busy and creative time for our girl

"Love Is" almost the whole song..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u36CupHNjrc

The audio is pretty good other than some people talking at the end. It is shot in HD so you can change the video quality on youtube.

I don't know who these people are, but I kinda hate them for their incredibly good fortune.

Hey, sorry I missed meeting some of you up front Hi to BellaDonnaDream and your friends and hey, here's a toast to Roman from Craigslist huh? Row 3

I'm a more-than-30-year fan and I have to say, I agree she's got a new spark. How can she not with that creative epiphany? You will not be disappointed in this show - except of course that you wish it go on all night!

So glad I went, even though like others here, I wish she'd sing some other of her best, not covers (and, IMHO she should not do the Zep ... leave it to Ann). The Bob Seger tune does get ya hoppin though - so long Alabam!

Here's some stuff that was great/not so great:

1. Many young girls (under 10) in attendance with moms (maybe me and my 5 yo next year!)
2. Many casino deadbeats wasting space near the stage - ugh
3. She's reachin for the notes when she can -- even workin' the wail for EOS
4. Packed house singin along ALOT
5. SECURITY hounds from hell
6. Many playful looks between herself, the gerlz and the band
7. Landslide dedicated to Christopher who's on the road with them (instant thought of howz that goin' with Lori) and recovered from cancer (she ended with "God Bless You Chris" ...agh, little brothers)
8. Teasin' Lori about her being in tears, calling from Phx, and Stevie giving up her Twilight reading-by-the-fire to talk to her ("That's love")
9. Lookin' over at the gerlz after the intro with , "So those are my chicks!" (big smile)
10. Swayin' sexy-hot during HSML
11. Generally talkative, full-o-love and HAPPY! Hope she keeps that up...and of course..
11. Took both of her soft little hands in mine, made eye contact and yelled up to her not to stop Hope she enjoyed the sunflowers and love note!

It was great rockin with ya there ...had hoped to see Ashley from PA . . . maybe next year

Here's a little bit of the eve, in pieces for ya, because of the security hounds:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNRyi1R6HRk (let me know if this doesn't work)

Overall, I thought this was a great show musically! So glad she has sparked up since Unleashed...this new, upcoming set of music could keep her going well into her 70's!
Here's hopin' XXX

Jamie

Sometime between now and the day that I die (or, more realistically, Stevie dies), I WILL have a picture like this. Except in our picture, I will probably look ridiculous because I would've either been bawling uncontrollably (to my great embarrassment, I'm sure) or I'll look like I'm about to pee my pants of excitement. Either way, it won't be good.

Oh and in my dream world she's holding my hand and looking like we just had an incredibly deep moment.

End of dreamy rant....

Oh, that's priceless. Wonder whether Stevie likes Edward or Jacob.

Okay, I'm not okay with the Twilight thing. I cannot BELIEVE she reads those books. I'm kinda devastated.

I'm glad that there was no Rock and Roll hat.

LOL about the casino location. I guess once they sold Manhattan for those beads, they were prohibited from having a centrally located reservation!

When there are only 5 shows, it's really hard to have one in a place that's so inaccessible. I didn't know anything about Verona until Hejira explained how long you had to drive to get there. Yikes. I hope it was all driving on level roads, because sometimes these places are in the mountains and that's horrific.

I really wouldn't expect anything more from her. OK, she likes the classics too. That's a mark in her favor. But otherwise . . . I would have kind of pegged her for the Twilight sort, even if she hadn't mentioned it.

I mean, I can see that she'd like the romantic element of it, along with the vampires and mystical bull****.... but at the same time, I like to think that she has literary standards. I just cannot take Twilight seriously for the life of me.

I don't think Stevie takes that stuff seriously (like she believes in vampires, etc) but it is the kind of stuff she reads and watches for entertainment. Remember she dedicated her song "Beauty & The Beast" on TimeSpace to Katharine and Vincent--Vincent, a character that would quote Shakespeare and Blake, among others, and read the classics to Katharine:

Stevie knows these things appeal to a young audience, and her goddaughters, etc. It's in the theatres, and people are reading and watching that stuff. Wouldn't it be fun (at least per most of your poll answers) to see such a movie with her Stevieness? These type of programs have the themes that Stevie likes to write about. Stevie is into that airy-fairy chick flick stuff.

She probably left the hat at home because the airline would have probably forced her to check it in baggage.

I'd never been to that part of upstate NY before and in a word, it's depressing. There are all of these little towns that were once thriving centers of manufacturing but are now blighted, rusted out, dying carcasses. Utica linens used to be made in Utica... now made in China. And we've all heard of Oneida silverware which used to be made in Oneida. Made in China. The NY Thruway is flat and well-maintained but the scenery is nothing spectacular; the drive up 87 to the Canadian border is more interesting and varied. I could only imagine the absolute despair and isolation that comes on during the winter...

Hey Jamie, Sean here, met you in the Casino. Glad you enjoyed the show, we did too, I just wish she had better orthopedic shoes instead of those god awful sneaker/boots she was wearing
