Bellaillume, not to be rude or anything (cause I appreciate you posting the lyrics), but you obviously didn't read my initial post.
The lyric is not "I sit out each night" - most websites that have the lyrics posted for this song have made this mistake.

I think it is "I sit, not in flight/hidden out of sight" which does make grammatical sense - as long as it has a comma in there.
I mean, it wouldn't be the best sentence she's ever written, but...

According to the "24KG" liner notes, the lyric is... "I sit not in flight...hidden, not in sight...blue water..." Mystery solved!!!
