Angela, I'm right there with you again!! I usually skip everything initially to listen to Everybody Finds out...it's just too far into the cd to wait.
The song I'm skipping everytime tho is What's the World Coming To...it sounds too dated for me to enjoy with all the great songs w/interesting twists and turns coming up after this same old tired FM tune...

How could anyone skip EFO????
Ok, this calls for some ground rules...... the Ten Commandments of SYW: 1. Thou shalt not ignore the lyrics booklet. Memorize it before you attend any concerts. 2. Thou shalt sing along and get on your feet to show support at said concerts for SYW songs. 3. Thou shalt take note of the fact that Lindsey produced Stevie's songs alone. Alone. By himself. Meaning he didn't want anyone else to do it. This denotes protectiveness, of course. 4. Thou shalt hope and pray Stevie gets some new clothes before above-mentioned shows. 5. Thou shalt hope and pray that Lindsey gets some new clothes before above-mentioned shows. 6. Thou shalt purchase at least three copies of SYW. One is to remain in your vehicle at all times. 7. Thou shalt reserve all complaints about SYW to fans who will understand and know you love the band anyway. Do not complain about SYW to quasi-fans. 8. Thou shalt not skip Red Rover. 9. Thou shalt love EFO with all thy heart, thy soul, and thy mind. 10. Thou shalt not skip EFO. Ever. Never ever. Ever. -Sharon

I hear ya, Bella Figura! I'm not a patient person, lol! I think I'm gonna burn a cd with RTTG and EFO back to back, over and over again. Those two songs just get my blood pumping. They're awesome.

Well, he's not breaking the Tenth, and as long as he is doing all the others, there may be mercy on his soul...........

Love the 10 Commandments, but you forgot the one that goes THOU SHALT NOT COVET KELLY CLARKSON'S CHART POSITION.
I skip RR & Come consistently. Sometimes I skip WTWCT (good song) but only because I like to hear Murrow (love the chorus, & just to make sure I'll get flamed, I'll go on record that I wish Stevie had contributed one of the layers "Murrow turning over in his grave..."). Similarly, I skip Illume (good song) just to hear Thrown Down. I skip SayG to hear GB. I skip some songs such as SYHA because I played them so much before the album's release. I skip Silver Girl if I'm driving because I don't like the slow ones when I drive. Gee, it sure looks like I skip a lot, but that still leaves THIRTEEN songs. - Jake

D'oh! How could I forget the Chart position one? Maybe soon it won't be an issue! lol!
I would love it if LB had Stevie singing "the damn thing went wild" really loud so we could hear it! How funny would that be? LOL!! -Sharon

I usually skip Everybody Finds Out (sorry, I don't know what it is, it's just not my thing) Bleed to Love Her, Steal Your Heart Away and Say Goodbye. Granted, all of these have their strong points, but I just favor the other songs (yes, even Silver Girl).

thou shalt not review an album after listening to only a couple of times and definitely not through an internet stream...
what a difference a week makes. and a quality soundin' recording. When I first got SYW, my skippers were Red Rover and Say Goodbye. Beautiful songs, but way too busy, according to my ears..i was missing it. I also initially had problems with the sequencing, fell in love with Stevie's songs instantly, and put it away a few times to listen to other music (Lucinda Williams and the White Stripes new records are terrific). BUT, last night I listened to SYW twice - front through back, and I, for the first time, connected to both Red Rover and Say Goodbye. (listening through really good headphones helps immensely). It's funny how you sometimes don't get a song on the first listen, but it takes a while for the music.. the lyrics to sink in. After listening to the record twice, I was laying in my bed with "Say Goodbye" stuck in my head.. amazing what a difference a week makes. Actually, I'm finding new things about the record - and I'm even ok with the sequencing. It just took.. well, a good week. I can't say I skip anything at the moment - although I have overplayed 'Peacekeeper" since I had it so early, so if I had to pick one..it would be PK! |

never skip a track on SYW...And I rarely do so on most cd's/tapes/etc I play...So I guess I am in the minority on this matter...Brian J.

I usually skip Silver Girl, because I just can't get into it.
Sometimes Come, just because now I can't stop thinking about Anne Heche. Seriously. ![]() SOMETIMES I skip Red Rover, Illume, and Smile at You. I love all of those songs, but don't always want to hear them.

I must say, I was initially quite frightened by Murrow, Come and Red Rover. Until I listened a little more. I've now come to appreciate the quirkiness of both Murrow & Come.......kind of "Tusk"-ish actually--starts out kind of slowly, softly, then really KICKS IN.
Red Rover, however, still scares the heck out of me. This one definitely gets skipped. I have not warmed up to this one! I'm sorry as well Lindsey lovers, I thought Murrow & Come were odd enough, but they've grown on me and I really think of them as nice little dittys now, but he just totally freaks me out with Red Rover. "Red Rover....Red Rover......we've come to take you over....." or whatever he says......I'm afraid to listen!!! Um, yeah, I really believe him with this one, that's why I make sure all the doors are locked and every light in the house is turned ON when and if I do happen to let this one play on my stereo!!!! Yikes! I think we could have come up with something a little better.....Down On Rodeo perhaps......anything!! And I skip Silver Girl most of the time. This just doesn't do anything for me. I keep thinking of that annoying song from years ago.....I'm a Barbie Girl in a Barbie Wooooorld.......yuck! They could have found a better song to replace this stinker as well. Every now & then I'll skip Running Through the Garden, depending on my mood. This one is so-so.....again, kind of.....I don't know.....odd. Not Stevie's best writing. Or vocals for that matter. Nice guitar work in this one though!!! So, it's worth listening to. I can make it through this song ok. The rest of the cd is awesome.......excellent. I'm rendered speechless at even the thought of skipping any of the other songs. How? That's all I ask! How? Stephanie

I skip the END of Murrow. I love the first 2 and a half minutes, but it's got to be his Worst guitar solo ever. And the album usually ends at Destiny Rules for me. I have to be in the right mood for the last two songs on the album. They're not bad, i just don't feel like listening to them
