Oh, I'd be wildly excited if he worked with Annie and I think they would be great live together. Unfortunately, a tour with Lindsey probably wouldn't be profitable enough to make it worth Annie's while. But I think they could work well together.

I'm glad Stevie had nothing negative to say about Lindsey in this interview. Of course, working with Dave is a lot easier than working with Lindsey because there's no historic personality clash. Probably opens up the creative floodgates, which is wonderful.

I laughed a little because she's known Dave a long time and I hope his input in the Eurythmics ' success didn't come as a revelation to her just now. I mean, she didn't say, "I've always admired him, etc." The omission means nothing, but it did make me smile to myself at the possibility of her going, "Man, for 30 years I had no idea what that guy did for a living. As it turns out, he's got some talent. Learn something new everyday."

Maybe she interprets "attention" and "respect" as two different things, here.

She probably wasn't interested in mentioning how they really met each other.

Besides, I think knowing someone and working with someone are entirely different things. You can discover a lot of new things, good and bad, about people when you've seen their work ethic. I imagine the same holds true for writing music together. Stevie's probably really recognized Dave's talent and value now that they're working together.

Personally, Stevie didn't say much that she hasn't said in 'past' interviews. She knows how to talk the talk after all these yrs. I'll hold off praise for said new cd /LP-I hope theres an Ltd edition LP issued too...when its released. I have to hear it for myself than her own words. I do hope its good or at least better than TISL but it would take alot for it to beat BD or WH to me......I'm not meaning that as a negative but we all like what we like.....so my expectations could be high esp. since we've waited so long for a new solo Stevie lp/cd. I guess only time will tell. So I wait for the 'new' release.......I wish it was sooner rather than later.....the re-issue of her solo work would be nice to have while we are waiting for the new cd. (With of course extras /outtake photos etc)......Enchanted #2.....or however would be great wouldn't it.....IMO.......

I wouldn't disagree. It's like Tom seemed to think that FM was just a bunch of commercial hacks and I think he got a different impression after becoming more familiar with Lindsey.

I've always heard good things about Dave's work, however. Even though I've never really been a fan. Michele

I think the chorus goes a little something like this:

"She says, it was an Italian summer like no other, you know. Enchanted on a walk of street angels she says, baby baby baby, take me the f*ck hoooooooooooooome!"

I'm so jazzed for this to come out already. I can't wait to hear Italian summer. And see the art work she is talking about. Thanks Stevie for not retiring yet.

I feel like we're seeing a totally new Stevie right now, at least so far... we'll see how the concerts and album go, but right now I'm excited! No weird arm braces, seemingly thinner, collaborating with artists who are all praising her work... I feel like we're allowed to be optimistic right now, especially after her apparent decline during Unleashed. I felt like she was really just looking old for a while, but this is a good feeling! I'm going to be excited about it until she proves me wrong.

It’s very diverse. There’s really, really rock ’n’ roll things, then there’s a song called “Italian Summer” that’s just a beautiful, beautiful love song I wrote when I was in Italy last year. It wasn’t even about anybody. It’s just the feeling you get when you go to Italy is just so romantic, so I wrote this song about this country that I just so fell in love with. Then there are the suffering Stevie songs. [Laughs.]
With all this "Italian Summer" talk, I'm wondering if she's readying it to be the lead single.

Besides "Everybody Loves You", which I believe to be a track from Dave's solo album, "Italian Summer" is the only track name that has been mentioned from Stevie's album, so I'm betting that it will end up being the first single. Maybe it will end up being released as a single in August to coincide with its addition in Stevie's upcoming shows...
