"Takes a long time" wow i love this song.

I looked up a youtube video of "you wont forget me" which had a live recording from a buckingham nicks show. AFTER that song plays, ANOTHER song i have never heard before but LOVE comes on called "Takes a long time" it reminds me of City of Hope a little bit. What is the story with this song? Does anyone have that/it? what era is this from?

Well, I always thought, from the vocals and music, that it was from the time period of The Other Side of The Mirror, circa 1988-1989.

Now, it could also be from that weird pre-Street Angel era 1990-1992, where she wrote songs like "The Dance", "The Mix-Down", "Poor Me", etc.

I still think The Other Side of The Mirror, but that's probably not Rupert Hine's production, to my ears. Too bad it's only a very short clip of it.

Her voice sounds definitely like something on Street Angel album, I´d say it was recorded in 1993.

Agreed. Not a big fan of this vocal or the song.

However, I DO enjoy You Won't Forget Me! Such a passionate vocal from Stevie!

I have it listed as an TOSOTM song. It's so short, so it really doesn't stand out to me as a good or bad song.

Well, that's not the whole song, obviously.

The person who leaked it in 1997 purposefully cut it, marked it, so that they would know who shared it without their permission. Why bother sharing if you're only sharing a snippet.

From what there is of the song, I like it and wish the whole song was available. Very nice lyrics and vocals from Stevie.

I like the short snippet of 'Takes A Long Time' too....I wish we had the complete version along with City of Hope.....they've been favorites of mine ever since I've heard them......
