I'm just trying to imagine Stevie looking at this thread and being totally dismayed by what we are saying...her songs are her children, she's always said, and if we want to never hear 'em again, that's like "i don't want to see your kids anymore"....sorta....not really...

bottom line, Stevie gets pure joy out of performing. She's mentioned how "Stand Back" is totally timeless and takes on a life of its own on stage and it's true. No matter how many times you see it, it still gets you...

I wouldn't mind some different songs in the set, but I have seen first hand what Stevie is talking about when she says most people at the shows don't want to hear unknown songs. The energy level drops, people get up and leave, or sit in their seats and chat to their friends. Some people may see this as Stevie catering to the casual fans, but I think it's more that as performers, they feed off the energy from the audience, and if it's not there it may effect their performances.

I don't know for sure, but I don't get the impression that Stevie really wants to be told what to play, especially from her fans. She seems very strong headed, and I think the constant whining for different songs won't do anything but annoy her. I think whenever someone writes an "open letter" or any letter that may be perceived by Stevie as a complaint, you shouldn't include "all your fans" in it. It reminds me of the Rankin Bass Christmas special "Twas the Night Before Christmas" when that mouse wrote a letter to a newspaper editor saying no one believed in Santa. Santa got PO'ed and skipped that town! Stevie isn't a jukebox, she doesn't take requests. Like others have said, if it really bothers people that it's the same time after time, you may want to stop going. Remember though, there are lots of fans who haven't seen a Stevie solo show yet, and to them everything is new, so think about that before you continue to publicly complain hoping it gets back to Stevie. It may do more harm than good.

I think we should go back to almost 30 years ago and have Stevie recreate the HBO special setlist also pieces from the Wildheart tour,
all into this tour.I will be happy.

I saw this tour at Great Woods in MA. The setlist with all the rarities was fantastic!

The whole show was simutaneously broadcasted on the monitors above the food kiosks around the venue (so you don't miss anything while buying a hotdog or beer). Gawd - I wished I could get my hands on that video tape!
