Default Melody Gardot.........AWESOME.

How in the world did I miss out on this great artist?
I just bought two of her albums in the past month and
they are great. How dare her record company not send
me promos for these two:

My One And Only Thrill
Worriesome Heart

I'm going to have to find a copy of "Some Lessons".

Really Ledgies do yourself a favor and buy one or both of
these CD's.

I was just posting about her a couple of months ago, and nobody said a thing here!!! Her voice brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard the full album My One And Only Thrill. Deep Within The Corners Of My Mind is about the most gorgeous song I've ever heard. And the title track from her first album, Worrisome Heart, is REALLY fun old school blues. I HEART MELODY!! In one fell swoop, she changed my opinions, preconceptions, and taste regarding jazz.

I'm a big fan of My One And Only Thrill, it's a really superb album that hits so many notes, if you'll pardon the pun! There's real heart and honesty there. Our Love is Easy is my personal favourite. She deserves to do really well and be discovered by more people.

This thread is so hot, I figured I would update it.

Ms. Gardot's website has been updated. Melody in
a bath tub........with milk even, hmm...

Plus her songs on a loop (I'm not saying how many times
I've listened so far).

I just love Melody's personal story, too. Seems no proper Jazz or Blues woman can earn her chops without a proper life of misery... and Melody sure seems to have seen her fair share of that! . But the awesome thing is, she seems to have no only persevered, but to have blossomed because of her travails. I try to tell everyone I can about Melody... she's one hard working, incredibly talented woman. Her music is so simple, so back to basics... I think anyone who is a music fan period should listen to her.

I'm gonna keep spamming this thread until I get someone new to admit we made them listen to Melody! This is my favorite Melody song... very Judy Garland esque. If this one doesn't give you chills, you're dead :

I think this song is just pure old school bluesy fun:

Good idea.

I had time to chill out tonight, so I listened to both of her CD's.
BTW, I have the deluxe edition of "My One And Only Thrill" and
it's very nice.

I'm very partial to My One And Only Thrill. In my opinion she sounds like she's blossomed as an artist several fold more than her first album, Worrisome Heart. Both albums just have different vibes, though. My One And Only Thrill is jazzier versus Worrisome Heart, which is a bit bluesier.
