I know that it's been discussed on here before and the most common assumption as to why Stevie hasn't had her life made into a biography or film is because she feels that her story isn't over yet.
I was thinking, maybe she just doesn't like the idea of people knowing everything about her life? Obviously, not even the most hardcore Stevie fan would know every detail of her life. There'd be so many more secrets that'd be revealed in a book or movie and maybe she's just not ready for that. Thoughts?

I agree. I think she's relatively private about her personal life.

I think she really is privy to a lot of stuff that went down "back in the day," and doesn't want that information to get out there in any way, shape or form. As she's said herself, "Castles would fall." Plus I think maybe it just plain freaks her out a little, in general ways that she maybe isn't quite able to articulate. Kind of like being scared of a certain hairpin turn on the road "just because it's freaky, that's all."

"As much as you guys all think you know about us you don't know anything about us. If the story was really to be told there's so much that we have been discreet about." - Stevie Nicks, 2009

Anyone remember what Mick said at the end of his book? ...

Stevie---> "You know, I'm not dead yet."
Nuff' said. There's just something eerie to me about making biopics of people while they're still alive unless there's like something triumphant that happens at the end. It can be done though. Think What's Love Got to Do With It, Erin Brockovich, People vs. Larry Flynt. But these movies all have angles - Tina's escape from the grips of abuse, Erin's legal victory over corporate America, Flynt's war against censorship. I mean, what would be the angle for Stevie? Life after drug addiction? Small town girl to rock and roll queen? A love affair destined for disaster? Blah. It would have to be something really good to do her justice and I feel as though the story is still being told. I think some of the best biopics are Walk the Line, Ray, and Milk, all of which tell the story of people that are dead. I just don't like the idea for Stevie right now. |

I found myself wondering this week about what's happening in Stevie's private life right now. We know so much about her life and loves and music from the past, but not so much in the last few years.
