Good, old-fashioned, black coffee--strong, and lots of it!!!

I prefer to make mine at home, but, if I'm out..I'll go Starbucks and get the bold brew of the day, or, here where I live (Indiana), we have mini-marts called Circle K--they have very good coffee.

hey caitlin...nice thread

I didn't start drinking coffee until a few years ago; now I will have 1-2 cups 5 days a week with -0- on weekends. I don't have much preference other than hot and caffeinated; I will drink black or with splenda and the whitestuff. Coffee can be expensive; I usually purchase whatever brand I know is tasty and on sale at the time.

We both live in the two towns that Johnny I'madouchebagCougar Mellenhead, has called home. Born and raised in Seymour, then he's been here since he was 18 or so.

Most of my family lives in Columbus. Columbus is too redneck for me, though.

I've heard of Big Red.....I have no tats, though.

It's totally different here, much weaker. Ever have Turkish coffee? It's like mud.

Me too. Started drinking it a year or two ago.

I forgot about you & your TAB obsession. I was the same as you - started with Tim Horton's English Toffee capuccino, which is basically a cup of hot frothy flavored sugar. I love a great cup of Chai tea as well.

When I started doing weight watchers & realized 1 cup was like 5 points, I went to flavored coffee with like 4 or 5 splendas & double skim. Now I'm down to 2 or 3 splendas & skim. I rarely drink coffee at home, I prefer tea (Stash black chai is a fave, with 1 splenda & a dash of milk. Yum.)

And whoever mentioned they liked DD over Starbucks b/c they have flavored coffee - you can get flavored coffee @ Starbucks too.

I drink Nescafe, instant coffee hehe. Just one cup in the morning, with some milk no sugar. Brewed coffees make my hands shake too much, and I have anxiety issues so it's best for me avoid it. I just need that one cup in the morning.
Rest of the work day, I drink green tea which has less caffeine than coffee (though it has some, just enough to keep me 'up')

ever since i started brewing my own mud-like coffee at home, i really don't enjoy getting coffee at restaurants/coffee shops anymore, unless it's some stupid frou-frou latte or something. i went to a coffee shop across the street from my work on my lunch break today because i needed a caffeine buzz and i didn't even want to finish it. (i did, of course, because i paid that $1.52 ... i'm just saying. ) it was watery, flat, lifeless. ick.

a cup of coffee is 5 points??? jesus.

i have a sweet tooth but i find splenda almost too sweet. i can only put 1 in a 12-16 oz cup of coffee.

Can't function without it in the morning.

I put down Starbuck's when the economy tanked so badly last year and now I DIY a caramella latte at home with a Krups espresso machine and bean grinder.
Currently using a mellow roast organic Guatamalan bean from a local roaster.
Mix 1/2 coffee & 1/2 2% milk that I froth to make a nice thick foam head.
Add about 2 tablespoons of Torani's carmel sauce.
Drink it out of a double walled stainless insulated travel cup.

Once in awhile I'll order Deep Tan blend from Santa Barbara Roasting Company. It makes the best lattes in the WORLD! However, I can only get through a half pound before I start getting "coffee gut" and have to switch back to a low-acid bean.

No, a cup of fake sugary capuccino stuff is 5 points - it's basically like hot choclate but worse. Coffee is ZERO points. Splash of skim & some splenda are zero as well, so that's what I do now.

It's obvious you like your coffee strong & black now. Like your men.
