OK... Did anyone else just FALL in love with him?!?! I have always found him to be really hot, and have always enjoyed his music, but damn, that was good! Its so funny to see him sing that here, when he opened for Stevie in S.F. on 12/9/01 at the KFOG show I got to meet him, he was just so sweet! Stevie and John have always had a connection to me in my head since that show, so this is just wonderful. Thanks for posting it!

Excerpt from a Rolling Stone review of MSG show:

http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdail...en/#more-27276

Mayer was less concerned with sending messages via his song selection than picking tracks that showed off his evolution as an artist: the acoustic (”Why Georgia”), the bluesy (”Crossroads”), the groovy (”Vultures”), the heartbroken (”Slow Dancing in a Burning Room”) and the hopeful (”Perfectly Lonely”). Mayer also acknowledged his inspirations with covers of Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’ ” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” which he cleverly slipped into the Mac-flavored “Half of My Heart.”

I'm very territorial when it comes to people doing Stevie songs, especially when the majority of them are terrible renditions (can we say Taylor Swift) as opposed to tributes but this isn't bad. I really dig the Half of my Heart song and the way he blended it with Dreams. Anybody see that girl Lacey Brown on American Idol last week attempting to sing Landslide? What a disgrace (damn I sound harsh lol).

It's hard for me, because there are songs of his that are really cool and chill, but he is very much a douche, and I have a hard time getting into him, or wanting to support him because of this!! Poor Jessica Simpson.
