A little over a year ago, and look at all the tours I've missed out on.

I've liked them for as long as I can remember. My mother was a fan of Fleetwood Mac in high school and she would always play their music when I was a kid. I first saw Stevie on the Street Angel tour when I was eleven, but my real fandom began with the Dance.

I really don't mean to sound like a twit, but why do all these chit chat threads refer to the Mac and Stevie, as if to say that if it weren't the Mac it would have to be Stevie, or both? Because that isn't the case for me, and as much as it doesn't annoy anyone else I just want to make it clear that I get a bit bothered that my guy isn't specifically mentioned in the thread title. Yes, I'm super anal like that.

That being said...I became a fan through my absolute adulation of anything musical Lindsey Buckingham was associated with, and obviously FM was a massive part in that. I always loved their music, but the fan thing happened after being turned onto them mainly after watching LB perform on that "Live in Boston" concert, which was aired on PBS at some point (SYW era). I was blown away. By him. And it began and continues from that point on.

I first heard a song by FM when i was sitting in the kitchen with my mother. We were watching a paid program on my tv (built in vcr..i miss that thing ) for songs that came out in the 60s,70s, and 80s while my mother sang along to every song that came on. One of those songs was Dreams. After the program went off my mother turned around to her computer and went straight to youtube because she was remembering a song they performed when my mother was a kid. She found the video and it was Rhiannon from the midnight special. The thing i remember the most is Lindsey's hair during his solo and really liking the end of the song when Stevie kinda went off. The next day when my mother went down stairs into the basement and played the Greatest Hits cd and repeated Sara over and over again. I asked her what the name of the song was and the next day i stole that cd and imported it onto my computer. My fandom started when i heard Little Lies and Tusk. My sister to this day does not understand wayy i love Tusk so much. She finds the song weird i guess. Little Lies was that song that whenever it played i would never skip it and if i did so on accident i would go "nooooo" and turn it back immediately. I loved Stevie because of songs like Sara and Gypsy and became obsessed with all things Fleetwood Mac. I went on the internet and found the buckinghamnicks.net website and started watching youtube videos. I loaded all the songs i had onto my phone and would play them in my math class after school ended (earning the name Stevie Nicks from my friend Steve). I got my first Ipod when i was 15 and on my quest for songs to put on it i found the pre-rumours era mp3s on my dad's computer. My fandom was solidified right there. Albatross =]

Tough. I've been listening to the Dance for as long as I can remember listening to anything, but it wasn't until the Under the Skin tour, and then album, that I became a huge LB fan, and then I really fell in love with the band.

Yep. That was it for me too. Except I saw LIB on Palladium channel ( in HD ) in 2008. Lindsey stole the show, but I loved all of them. The concert is amazing in HD and it made me feel like I could just reach out and touch them ( well, Lindsey that is ). Sad, 'cause LB was on tour ( for GOS ) in Seattle ( where I live ) just a couple months before I "discovered him" .but I've since devoured every video and piece of music of his I can get my hands on...kinda making up for lost time!

I feel your pain, by the time I discovered the band last year, they were already touring overseas.

I wish I could say it was with,

"I woke up one morning,
Waking with the RIS-ing sun!!!"

Unfortunately, a.) I was busy learning to crawl when their first album came out, and b.) I didn't really discover them until
after I discovered Stevie solo. I saw her HBO concert (Stevie Nicks: Live) and was blown away; and kind of gravitated towards Fleetwood Mac after that. My memory's a little vague on the details but I think maybe I was vaguely aware that "Rhiannon" and "Dreams" were actually Fleetwood Mac songs, and so I decided to check out Fleetwood Mac. Something along those general lines.

I first became aware of Stevie around 1991, which is the first time I can recall hearing "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" (I was 10 years old). I was already a Tom Petty fan and was watching MTV when they played a block of Petty videos and included that as one of them. I bought Bella Donna and loved it, but didn't know who Stevie was or that she was in Fleetwood Mac and really didn't make that connection until the '97 reunion when I read an article in Rolling Stone called "Checking In With Fleetwood Mac."

Then The Dance aired and I immediately became infatuated with Lindsey. Later on I discovered Billy and Bekka, as well as several peripheral artists like Walter Egan, John Stewart and Warren Zevon. To say the least, my fandom of Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac as a band has waned, but I still love Lindsey, Billy, Bekka and the peripheral artitsts.
