I used to play along with the Mirage album quite a bit many years ago on my Kurzweil. It was very easy to retune this monster within the pitch that the songs were recorded. I can still match the pitch on my SP88X, so no problem with the piano.
I still wonder to this day why the tape speed was slowed approximately 15c and mastered at that recorded speed. This isn't a simple retuning or playing the song in a different key. Someone was screwing with the speed control on the tape machine. The whole album is detuned to approximately this value. I don't play along with the album on the guitar for this reason. I could detune one of my guitars to do this, but then it wouldn't sound the same as the Turner. Would anyone care to further any other speculation on this? |

The master recording of Mirage is a POS. Sure, the CD transfer is abominable, but there are enough audible flaws even on the original vinyl pressing (ex. the crunchy audio dropout after "me me me" on "Straight Back"- the tape must have been physically garbled) that demonstrate just how poorly this album was put together.

Maybe I'm missing something here -- how is this Post-Rumours?

Maybe because it was released after Rumours?

Whatever. I thought Post-Rumours meant the band members that came after the Rumours era, i.e. Billy, Rick, Bekka, and Dave, but I guess it really doesn't matter....

It wasn't supposed to be cute. I didn't know that's all we talked about here was band members.

No worries Michael, you're not the first to interpret 'Post-Rumours' that way
. I didn't mean to sound snappy. It's not like we get an uncontrollable stampede of posters over here, anyway! ![]() And I can't touch your question because I'm totally clueless as to what you and Luke were talking about. Peace! |

You would if you put Stevie's name in the thread title.

Yep, that was demonstrated quite well just recently
.....something about Stevie & Billy that got 90 replies, right Viv? -- where my MFBB threads are lucky to get 3 or 4. ![]() (((idea)))Does Stevie Nicks dislike the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band? ![]() |

Really, Stevie fans should come to this part of the board also. I mean, she was at least on Behind the Mask with Rick and Billy.

Actually, that's not a bad idea. After all: "Is Stevie jealous of the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band's Grammy nomination?"

But I was also curious if Stevie ever said anything negative about Billy.Last edited by vivfox; 01-25-2010 at 11:52 PM.. |
