Seriously though, I just think a monthly popularity contest is a bad, bad idea.

Does the winner get a plaque and a one year membership to the wild game sausage-of-the-month club with bonus deli meat slicer?

It's never going to work. Favouring some people over others because they're lickarses, or post inane "contributions" to this website is not going to go down well at all.

I agree, & I think that's cool.

It's a good, good idea any time we implement a contest here that has the potential to sow dissension & discord, & to release pent-up & deep-seated animosity & perhaps even disgust among forum users. That's the sort of thing that keeps me entertained while I wait for tomorrow's broadcast of "Judge Judy."

I think it could work if there's a "prize"... maybe making non-contributing Ledgies into contributing ones?

Me too. Which is all it really is. The mature adults are here for something more I would think.
