Default Crystal Visions Tour Stories

It's called Christian Visions!

If you got to see Stevie on the CV tour, tell us your story here! I figure I'll combine both tours, 07 & 08. Just be sure to make sure which one(s) you are talking about though.

This was the first time I got to see Stevie, so I have a real story at last!

07

I just started to get really into stevie after getting the CV CD and reading her notes inside. I had never been to a concert before so didn't know what to expect. My mom & I had not so great seats. We were the last row on the floor at the Borgata in AC. It was the last show of the tour so that was really special.

When she first came out I was so surprised with how her voice sounded! I didn't expect that, and it took a song or two to get used to. It's not what I heard in the studio.

Stevie got teary eyed after singing Landslide and said "that was hard" because she talked about the photos from her Dad on the screen behind her. She said she never looked behind her because it makes her cry. Well, that night she looked behind her.
Overall it was a great show since it was my first concert. It's also always special to be there on the last night.

08

At the borgata again, some time in June. We had maybe 6th or something row seats, but they were all the way on the corner left angle. So we went for seats farther back in the front center at the last second.

This turned out to be great because it turned out no one was sitting behind us! (the people who were left or moved elsewhere mid concert. So I was able to stand the whole time when everyone else in front of me (except the first row or two) was sitting down. I remember during songs like Face the Promise (great!) I had a super great view of her from head to boot, from the 20th row back. And I think she was looking right at me. It MUST of been me! She was looking past the front row, and I was seated RIGHT in front of her, and was the only other person standing! Oooh I remember thinking she knew I was there and that made me feel really special inside. (even it though it sounds silly)

There was another lady in front of us who promised to send us pictures that she and her husband took, but never did! We gave her our e-mail address during HAEWAFY, and never heard from her since.

Anyway, seeing stevie 2 times in 2 years was really fun and there is nothing I'd rather do. Please share your stories as well! This is the last topic for the Stevie section, and I'm so happy everyone has provided insight to all the eras of Stevie. Thank you!

Thank you Alicia for all the nice, colorful photos. You showed us the many colors of SN.

Well, at least the three colors. But that pretty much is all her colors! LOL.

To add to my story, in 07 stevie changed the lyrics to rhiannon at the end. She said the "dream on silly dreamer" part the whole time at the end of the song, instead of the "you still cry out for her" part. After the song she went over to Waddy and whispered something in his ear. Then she told us that she was just telling waddy that she slipped back into 1977 for a minute there. Sorry girls!

And in 08. The whole band cut Outside The Rain in half. I forget if they missed a verse, or didn't sing the chours one time. But I didn't even realize it at the show til Stevie explained what happened. She said something like: We're just laughing up here because we just cut outside the rain in half....but it was perfect! And it really was perfect, it didn't sound like they messed up at all. Everyone kept singing and playing like that is how the song went.

Saw CV in O7 at PNC Art Center. Second time with the lawn seats. It downpoured the night before, so we were a muddy mess. The show was great. Didn't make it in to see Chris Issac. From what I remember the show rocked and we had a good time.

Saw CV in 08 at Jones Beach. That was a kick ass performance. Everyone was on fire. GDW was definitely the highlight, Face the Promise was cool too.

2007 was an amazing year. I spent so much money that summer, I don't even wanna admit

First show was in Detroit w/ Chris Isaak. This one doesn't stand out much. I do remember her adlibbing at the end of Fall From Grace and then saying something like a bug flew in her mouth lol. I had 3rd row seats off to the side, directly in front of the girls. My area seemed to be a little obsessed with Lori. We kept yelling her name like crazy and she spent the majority of the night turning our way and yelling thank yous and blowing kisses.

Then there was Youngstown. What I remember? Vanessa Carlton's opening set. I was so excited to see her. Stevie gave a hell of a wail during Sorcerer. She brought out Sulamith at the end and held her up for the crowd. I also remember right before the Edge walk, I turned around and there was Carlos Rios beside me. I guess some of his family is from Youngstown? And also during the Edge walk there happened to be someone dressed in a chicken costume in the crowd, dancing like crazy. During my handshake moment, Stevie noticed the chicken and started laughing. I was literally inches from her face. I remember thinking to myself, 'Wow, I can totally see every detail of Stevie's teeth.'

Best show of 07 and best show of my life (!!!!) was Chicago 10-19-07. Weren't you there too, Alicia? I could go on forever about this show. It was AMAZING. And not just because I got an 11 second handshake (yes, I counted on youtube), or that Stevie came down to the edge of the stage and said goodbye to me at the end of the show, or that she practically sang How Still My Love to Me (I choose to believe this, there is no convincing me otherwise), she just really put on an incredible show. I remember the end of Rhiannon the most. She crouched down and did the sky-y-y-y part very dramatically like she used to do in the old days. The video on youtube does not do it justice.
When she did Sara and Crash into me, I've never been so excited to hear new songs in my entire life. It was that moment I'd been waiting for, to be totally surprised by a set list change. I'll stop now, I could go on and on.

Last show was Toledo in 08. You either loved it or you hated it. It rained like a mother effer, and I was soaked to the bone, freezing, pissed off and it was by far the worst Stevie concert experience I've had. Not Stevie's fault though, it was all the weather. She was great that night. And I have to admit that it was very special to be there in that crowd when she sang Dreams while it was still raining and everyone singing it so loud. And I loved hearind Stevie yell, "You're the best damn audience I've ever had in my entire life!" And it was really funny when she said something like, "There is something good that will come out of this. We'll all end up sick and in the hospital with aneumonia and just think the doctors will make so much money!!"

Ok, I'll stop now. I remember lots more, but I think I already ventured into boredom for you guys a long time ago.

By all means, go on and on if you'd like! I want to hear about your personal Stevie experience. Plus, hearing that you were excited about a performance of "Rhiannon" makes me so happy, because I feel like no one cares about it anymore.... now that she appears to not care about it, either. :/

Sadly, I think you're going to have to get used to this. It sucks.

It's too bad you missed Chris Isaak. He's quite entertaining. Best opener of Stevie's I've seen. I went to the Charter One Pavillion shows in Chicago in 2007 and 2008. This may be the only decent outdoor venue in the Chicagoland area. Other things, I liked the Crash cover better than I thought I would, and the merchandise was better for this tour than the Gold Dust Tour. I remember her talking about having to be in Chicago in February to work on the Soundstage performance, and how she still really liked the city despite being here in February! I don't remember much else, although I enjoyed both shows. My pictures were craptacular, however. I wish I could have gone to the Soundstage and Rosemont shows, but I was out of town. Then again I got to meet JK Rowling instead. I think that autograph may be more valuable than Stevie's at the moment.

P.S. Great pics as usual, Alicia.
