When it came around to the "Rock A Little" through the "Tango In The Night Days", her hair was totally out of control and I really didn't like it all that much. Yeah, it was the 80's, but that hair actually looked better on the girls from Heart than on Stevie. I thought that Christine's hair was much prettier in the 80's than Stevie's was. Christine, had very pretty hair. Then when "OSOTM" through "Street Angel" came around, the clothes just got bigger. She didn't grow just the clothes did, and I thought that what she was wearing made her look big. I always had a hard time seeing the shape of her body because she was buried under so much clothing. Especially during "Timespace" and "OSOTM". Puffy sleeves!

Well, I guess that was the point. The puffy garments disguised the puffy body. I agree, the big hair worked on Lita Ford or the Heart girls of any of the hair-metal boys, but was getting dated by the time Stevie amped it up with such fury in the post-1987 period. I think it looked cool in the ICW video. I think it looked yuck on the Red Rocks video sleave.

It's my understanding that she did it the whole tour during Edge of Seventeen.

She did this -- of necessity -- in Costa Mesa in 1986. The mic stand busted & had to be fixed by a techie during the song (I think it was RHIANNON).

She did it in Phoenix too during Edge of 17.

I agree that the pic with Stevie and the black hair is absolutley the worst pic of Stevie!!! She doesn't fit into black hair...

I actually love the "Rock A Little"/"Tango in the Night" - era hair. I think it looks great, it's my favourite hairstyle she's ever had. My one ambition in life is to bring back the shag perm.

However, "Street Angel" hair looks hideous. It makes her look fatter, I don't know how but it does. It's like she stuck her finger into a socket.
