Question silver springs vocal lines

Hey, does anyone have any idea as to the lines that Chris and Lindsey sing in the Chorus of Silver Springs? I'm trying to arrange it for my choir but I can't figure out where they sing...If anyone here has perfect pitch or a songbook with full harmonies in it, could they shoot a GIF or JPG of the notes my way? I have the singers doing chords right now and it sounds cool, but I'd like to have a more accurate sound...

It's a bit of a mess - it took Anne (Fleetfoot Mike's Christine and vocal arranger) a while to settle on harmonies that seemed right. Bear in mind that Stevie's improvising for half of it, and there are several backing singer bolstering things up on the version on The Dance.

I'll check with Anne when she gets home tonight, and write you out the version Fleetfoot Mike settled on.

Thanks, man...If you have the five part, I'll take that as well, use it to cut the tenors and the altos in parts. If not, no worries.

I started out with the Tenors singing Lindseys lines. I had them singing the E, G, G, F, and B as the chord goes through the Amin, G, C, F, and G progression, but it doesn't sound quite right when played alone, even though the leaps are right.

Again, I appreciate the hard work that you guys have done. I liked your recordings on your site...very good. You play with a pick or fingers?

I play with fingers - had to basically relearn my lead technique to do so!

As to Silver Springs, what we sing is as follows (only noting where the note changes)

Lindsey

Time(E,) cast a spell(G,) on you but you(C) won't forge-et(B) me.

Stevie

Time(A,) cast a spell(B,) on you(C) but you(F) won't(E) forge-et(D) me.

Chris

Time(C) cast a spell(D) on you(E) but you(A) won't(G) for-ge(A)-et(G) me.

Hope this helps: if it's still not clear I'll toss it at a score editing program in the morning.

Talking to Anne (she is my wife, after all) a bit more about Silver Springs and what you're trying to do - she reckons the backing singers are all singing one or other of those lines, but not necessarily in the same octave. She's also pretty sure (and I tend to bow to her on such matters (and not just because she's my wife!)) that all the harmony parts are the same general 'shape' in terms of rise and fall of the line.

She also said (quote), "God, I love their harmonies."

Thanks for the compliments on the band, and the best of luck!

Thanks...it helps out a lot.

I'm getting ready to cut some tracks on a CD for fun and a friend wanted to do this song with me. Since it was one of the songs I taught myself how to play on, I thought 'Why not?'

Hey, maybe if I get enough cash, I can head over to UK and gig w/or view a gig of yours. Be nice to see the homeland again.

Mike, this is generally what I meant over on the Stevie board, but my babbling incoherence, as I see it now, didn't really state that. I think she is right. I really need to stop posting when I'm half asleep (like I am now).

It's allright...I had them both posted at the same time, so it wasn't like I was ignoring your help. Thanks to both of you, I can get this thing hammered out and perfect (as possible) for the spring show, or maybe I'll hold off till Fall, I don't know.
