If you're comparing Tusk to SYW... then What's the World Coming to...

And you know in your heart of hearts... as long as we've known each other and thensome.... I could fart the themes to Tusk and it would still be better than SYW...

I disagree... you can be a bitch at any age... but especially at 60....

it's just a word... people call me a bitch and I tell them they're probably right... let's not over react...

"Over reacting" ??? cause I called someone out on something? Hardly.

"We wish we didn’t have to charge anything. I wish we could just play."

Oh no she didn't. What a lazy ass dishonest b*&#$! It was just last year that her sole stated reason for not doing another album was because fans were stealing from her, OH NOES!

"I can do a solo record, but what will happen is 1,000 hard-core fans will buy it and push the send button and send it to 5 million others. That makes me wonder, why bother? People are stealing our songs."
link

If she had this "just play" mentality in a studio, she would make an album for creativity's sake, without regard to units sold. And "When I am in one relationship, I am not in another one." might carry more weight if she hadn't been free in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. Hopefully she just is avoiding the truth about why it has been a decade since recording an album, because her stated reasons are caca.

I've pretty much given up hope on another solo record from Stevie so her comments about the subject no longer affect me. However, I thought the exact same thing when I read her latest excuse. Yeah, she recorded and edited Soundstage and put out Crystal Visions but she's had MORE than enough time since 04 to record a solo record, if she truly wanted to. She clearly doesn't. Mr. Buckingham managed to record 2 outstanding records in the same time frame and followed up with 2 tours. Those CD's didn't even go gold. I"m sure personal motivation and career goals differ between SN and LB but my point is almost anything is possible if you're heart is in it.

I don't think she wants to do another solo album - and I'm fine with that.

Well, at least she isn't doing infomercials for Ab Cruncher or "Be A Millionaire in Real Estate."

[Nothing new here, but Stevie did talk about her songwriting process. I wish there was someone I could pay just for a copy of the entire press conference]

Fleetwood Mac: On writing, new tour, upcoming album
12:17 PM Tue, Feb 10, 2009 , Posted by: Vanessa Franko

http://blogs.pe.com/features/2009/02...ing-new-t.html

I am on a conference call with Fleetwood Mac and I wanted to share some of the tidbits from the call.

The band is doing its first tour in about five years, and its first without a new album. They hit the Honda Center on May 23 and the Staples Center on May 28.

Stevie Nicks said that taking time off for everyone to do solo projects keeps everything going well and the balance keeps everyone happy and uplifted and excited to work together again.

Mick Fleetwood said that there has been talk about an album, but it would come down to "the biorhythms to how everyone is feeling."

Nicks did say that her lyrics come from her journal and that writing lyrics is the hardest part of the song. She doesn't go to the piano until she has her "poems" done.

Also, Lindsey Buckingham just said that Radiohead is a band that means a lot to him, the way they straddle the line between commerce and art.

There does seem to be at least a little bit of that tension that has made Fleetwood Mac timeless (ahem, "Go Your Own Way"), when Nicks talked about how she wouldn't get another woman in the band to act as a buffer between her and Buckingham.

"If Lindsey and I can't work out our problems on our own, we'll throw in the towel," Nicks said.

Buckingham also said that Fleetwood Mac is still "a work in progress."

You make some great points....I'm not surprised at all by Stevie's attitude. I guess that's why I refuse to shell out any more of my $$ to see her or Fmac /Eagles in concert (or anyone else for that fact)....They want our $$ but would love to just do 'business' as usual for them. Change nothing do nothing. Boring show. Spend tons of $$ on tickets and merchandise for a crappy show. I don't think so. This may bother some but this kinda attitude bothers me as a music listener. If you can't care to do your very very best than sorry as a listener what's in it for me. I've heard the same songs over and over again ...You have this wealth of material that like never gets played....I'm tired of it and saddend by it all at the sametime. Unfortunately, Stevie & the rest of the band (and any band for that fact ) esp them since well they had made so much $$ at one time....they are in it for the $$ not for the love of 'art' anymore. Or so it seems. Its really a shame. I'm not inspired to see this tour or any. She could release tons of stuff and 'never' have to record anything new ever again. There are all the Masters from her solo lps....demos/outtakes/alternates....etc....but or course 'hell' would have to freeze over for that to happen for her to do that. (her brother probably will though as soon as he can).....No she doesn't owe us anything....but she could 'if' she wanted too. Than there's all her outtake photos too.....endless options really......but we are gonna steal everything.....I don't do anything like that ....even though she probably doesn't recall anything she says after she says it in an interview that one still stings me.....whatever Stevie....whatever.....give me a break....

She says in that interview that it was in El Paso during the first FM tour that she couldn't fit into her dress because she had gained five pounds. El Paso was only her second live show with the band, on May 15, 1975. I bet the reason she gained weight was because she was finally eating right after years of making Hamburger Helper taste different. I recall her saying that after they joined at the beginning of that year, her and Lindsey both started receiving money every week.

I'm with you. This is the first time ever that I have decided to opt out of buying tickets to see them. In a twisted way, I almost want this tour to fail badly. Given the state of the ecomony, and the ridiculously high ticket prices, I don't doubt that at some shows they will be playing to half empty arenas.

I've loved and appreciated Stevie for decades, but I've always known she talks a heck of a lot of sh*t. I can't understand the fans who hang on her every word and think it's the truth...about her relationships, her songs, her history...it's all filtered through her mindset at the moment, and has absolutely no bearing of actual reality.

In regard to her issues about releasing new music: She has mentioned that she gets bummed out when her friends request hearing the demo versions of her songs. She questions why, when she's spent all this money, time and effort in creating the songs in a studio with dozens of musicians.

Well Stevie -- get a damn clue!! Perhaps figure out that your fans would be very happy if you actually released some of these demos. Maybe you could release some albums that feature your songwriting and singing without making a huge production out of it.
