Is it me, or in the performance of "the chain" in 1987's tango in the night tour, stevie says, after the chorus: "lindsey says, do not break the chain"?

I always heard it as "she says, do not break the chain" but who knows, I could be hearing it wrong!

Ok... I have listened to it over 20 times and she state: "Ooh she says, 'Never break the Chain..." I could see how you would hear, "Lindsey says..." I understand that.

Yup I also hear Ooh she says...during Outside The Rain Stevie sometimes says the 'Mick says Stevie well this is just one more link in the chain'
Lindsey wouldn't be the one saying not to break the chain - he broke it. |

It'd fit if she were being sarcastic, I s'pose, but I, too, hear "ooh she says."

That decision was made in conjunction with Lindsey who has long been experimenting by alternating, "don't look down" with "do not look down". Together they decided this was a wonderful way to breathe new life into a Christine classic. Talkin' about unleashed baby. Michele |

That's some heavy stuff, man. It's nuance & fluidity like that that's kept this band going for so long now - I mean, if they didn't randomly break up contractions like that, they'd have gone stagnant years ago. Whew.
