Default Crash

I did a compilation of stuff that i really liked recently, and as an aside, i included Crash from Soundstage (which i hated when i first heard!)
I saw Dave Matthews not long ago and was bored out of my head with his music - but loved his between song banter!
This song , by Stevie, has grown on me tremendously.
I really feel that this song is one of the best things she has done recently ( and she should 100% record it - to show a studio version exists, through the eyes of a woman!)
I feel the same about cirlcle dance - i really like Bonnie Raitt - and have done for quite a few years (way beofre Nick of time!). But, to me, that song was a very ordinary song by her - andyet, it is transformed by Stevie. It takes on a whole new meaning, and suits Stevies voice much more (she soooooo needs to record a covers album, continuing the theme of really interesting and different interpretations!)

Can't see it happening, what with the FMac tour looming! (but would love to see it!)

And just for the record - i love the idea of Sheryl Crow joing FM for the rour - i thin she would really embellish teh sound and add a different dimention to the show.

Dave

I loved Crash the first time I heard her do it on Soundstage. I stronly think that it was not live it really sounded like a studio recording to me. Eitehr that or they tweaked it after the live recording.

Liked Circle Dance a whole lot too. First time I saw her do it live it really breathed some fresh air into her performance and set list which was refreshing.

So many other singers do entire works of cover songs why hasn't Stevie. I wonder if she is afraid of failure.

I do think it's great that for The Soundstage Sessions CD (because the DVD has the entire show, sans BATB) that she included both Crash and Circle Dance. Plus, last year, she released Rock And Roll on Crystal Visions; Stevie is stepping into that arena and i think it's great that she is officially releasing these songs. To me, they ARE new songs, because they are her interpretations, and that makes them new and fresh! I'm glad she isn't releasing Rock And Roll on the Soundstage CD tho, because even tho the performance was good, it's nice that she contructed the CD tracklisting to have more "rarities" on it, and not too many re-treads.
